That is a very conservative source.

It seems there are promising drugs and vaccine have been produced. When will it give an impact on public healthiness.
The term needed to recovery in hospital is quite long in around three weeks. That sounds bad for cost and public queue.

Yes, numbers should be up in all concerned countries, no country can test all the people. However, "at least 3M and as high as 10M" sounds like a guess more than anything. I mean everybody knows numbers in Brazil are not reflecting reality due to low testing, but to come up with numbers so widely apart also reflects the fact that nobody knows the real number of COVID19 in Brazil. Taking a wild guess of between 3 and 10M, that's quite useless. That's the same thing as those wild predictions foreseeing that if nobody wears masks in X country, 5M to 15M people will be infected... the gap between the numbers is so huge that those predictions are completely useless. Better wait for hard facts than to go on throwing wild numbers, truth will come out, and then it'll be relevant to talk about numbers.

Exactly. Hard facts are hard to come by (and, in the cases of coverups, we may never know), but in a situation like Brazil's, it's very hard to sort out causes and narrow it down to even a large ballpark figure.
Additionally, Marie's assertion implied that the reason for the difference was a lie or other deliberate coverup. I don't doubt that's happening (given the absolute train wreck of a leader their president is), but the article didn't touch on that and, as you said, we can't do much with it. According to models (all we have to go by), even Germany is thought to be currently under-reporting cases by nearly three times:

At the very least, you need to shave off the amount of under-reporting due to circumstances that aren't deliberate falsification. 5 to 10 times is certainly not outside the realm of possibility due to the strain on resources alone.

And the funny part is, every single President or Prime Minister on the planet, knew instantly China was lying.
I mean, besides Trump.
Other than him, the fact that China's lips were moving was evidence enough they were lying.
So they all buckled down, ramped up testing and production of PPE and ventilators, and stopped this virus before it snowballed out of control.
While the US kept right on trucking, oblivious to the BRIDGE OUT signs they were passing.
