Do any other Israelis here encounter tons of antisemitism?

The criticism of Israel's conduct in foreign relations and the oppression of Palestine deserves criticism, certainly. I get the same about the U.S., and alls I do is pretty much agree. The anti-jewish stuff I don't know? It's well known that some of the most informative critics of the Israeli government are jewish;) 

Well yeah, those people are fruitcakes. I'm sure some people use the Palestinian issue for their own agenda, and couldn't care less about palestinians. They just hate jews. 

I saw a terrible remark to a fellow Jew and I can no longer write Hebrew to tell him. The child's site is filled with gangster rap profanity. Please contact me if u know how to report swearing. I heard that a child w as banned from chat. This offensive person , chess.com staff should know.

Being anti-Israeli Govt isn't being anti-Semitic and any racism displayed is wrong and should be reported.  Having a discriminatory attitude towards Palestinians is just as bad. You're a disgrace televivioren and have no right to complain when you come out with statements like that. You give Jewish people a bad name.

All the Jewish people I know don't like what the Israeli Govt is doing and are called 'self-loathing Jews'; it's the best that be offered it seems in defence of the indefensible.  British Jews, like any others can choose to live in Israel, but Palestinians born there don't have that right.

I am a Canadian Jew, almost 50. I used to look down upon fellow Jews who "fired" emails while my late uncle, part of the French resistance, a war veteran for Israel, put in an electric bath by Nazis who tore off his thumbnails (there was an escape before he told too much-we all talk, even in a dream state, revealing secrets to our own mother). There is more about him, including the reasons the French resistance went looking for him. But I now understand that the people who fire "emails" instead of defending their homes and families with artillery (this man carried to his death a table cloth made by his own sister murdered in the Nazi Camps)..the people who fight with emails are trying to fight defamation, or character assassination. Lies, repeated often enough are accepted as truth.

  I don't care what a religious book says about who owns land. There is potential for much sarcasm there. The fact is, my country, Canada, had a genocide of the Natives, once known as Indians. It is war that puts lines on a map. This is a sad thing, and might have to change now that we can end the human race with war, but it was reality.

  It is interesting to note that right before the Great War, the war to end all wars, everything seemed to be set for peace. The kaiser, or king of Germany, was cousins with however you want to spell it in English, the Tzar. They were both nephews of the queen of England. England was friends with France. The USA didn't want a war. As it was starting, and this is open to interpretation, the Kaiser and Tsar were sending each other letters of peace. It the first and famous movie from the book, All Quiet on the Western Front, the men were wondering how war started. Perhaps it is like a fever. Nobody wants it, but it comes.

   I have a book that says there is evidence of a war between Homo Habilus, I believe, and ape like creatures. Homo Habilus won with about a tonne of throwable rocks found with the skeletons of the enemies. If they are anything like todays "funny and loving apes, often called monkeys" they would have killed and eaten us.

   The point of all this? No rational, honest person likes hypocrisy. Most of us have our countries because we killed our enemies. I know much more about WW2 than the history of Israel, but it was divided up to start between the Israelis and Palestinians, just like part of India was taken for Muslims and called Pakistan. There is another example of the same thing that just slips my mind. The Palestinians along with other nations tried to destroy us and publicly stated that it would be a genocide. We would be pushed into the sea. We did what we needed to do to prevent further attacks, which came, and we protected our children from murder. 

  Firstplay. I am sorry. I see anti Israel and anti Zionist as anti Jewish. The left wing liberal Jews? I am about to say something very hurtful, so please get ready. my intention is not to hurt. I AM JUST BRINGING LIGHT TO A DISCOVERY THAT I MADE IN THE STUDY OF THE HOLOCAUST THAT I MADE OVER DECADES. THIS WAS A TERRIBLE SHOCK TO ME.

  One of the stereotypes, negative, against Jews, is that we are all destructive left wing, and that Communism is Jewish-which of course it is not. I don't understand why so many Jews support communism. My first though, and I can think what I want even if it offends people, is as follows. We come into a country waiting to find Israel again. WE ARE GUESTS!!! We do not own this country. Religion and politics were tied up, and we should have been grateful that we were allowed to live in this country, and not accept the national religion. But for people to bring their own ideas about politics into a country, when the people are guests, is terrible. Especially when they are bringing in something that has killed possibly more people than anything else in human history, Communism.

  In some camps run by Nazis, the colour of a person's triangle on his uniform indicated his crime. Jews, and of course it is unfair. We are not all communist. But often we wore one red triangle meaning communist or very left wing, and another yellow triangle. sewn on top, to make the Star of David. The accusation is that communism is Judaism.

  Again, of course this is a lie. But this was a main accusation against the Jewish people.  I have the misfortune of knowing a fellow Jew that I went to school with. He is very left wing, and I will not mention what I consider to be his crimes that should put him in prison. His left wing crimes are a shame to all Jews. 

  My opinion can be blocked here, but the Israeli Govt knows the truth.

  I should not even lower myself to "firing emails". Out of reverence for my late uncle.

 Why do Jews support people who almost openly admit to hating Israel? I don't know. I don't know why the Rabbi's are not told by Israel about their failings-the Western Rabbi's are not stupid, not counting the religious fanatics.

  Either way, people can say what they want about Israel, while the remnants of Natives are committing suicide in the streets. Wonderful people. They are just using Israel as a vent. When Obama tried to split Jerusalem, he found that Americans in the know with political power...Obama was not "commander in chief" after all. Must have sounded nice speaking into the mirror.

   So the conclusion is, Israel is not going anywhere. Make up more anti Israel signs for protests. It will not harm us. And if Israel is ever bombed....Lord have Mercy on the world. See on Youtube American Archives Know your enemy Japan to see how they think and what you are dealing with

Well, a long gap between posts. Yes, Jews used as scapegoats for the inabilities of capitalism by Hitler (and many others since) to solve the issues forced by competitiveness of the corporate world.  All bad of course, as scapegoating and victimisation are both wrong and don't solve problems. If there'd be no Jews in Germany or Europe then the economic problems of over production and limited markets still existed.

Like I said, blaming Govts actions on individuals doesn't solve problems, many Jews and Israelies don't support the Govt over there.  It doesn't mean that they're anti-semitic, just that that they have their own opinions, all legitimate in a democracy.

Having a go at someone who displays an Israeli flag is just wrong.  I can't think of many countries that haven't committed terrible atrocities, usually with an excuse conjured up by the media that they claim is plausable. 

I've not had anyone had a go a me for displaying a flag of the UK, a country despised throughout the world for it's acts of barbarism, too many to mention but including the subdugation of American people not so long ago.

The fact is that we all know it, that our leaders, politicians and miltary, do what they please while waving the national flag.  The ongoing wars and attrition in the Middle East have little popular support.  The chaos and destruction, and the millions of lives lost mean nothing to the politicians who sanction the wars.  The paymasters; the corporations who seek to harness the worlds resources, own the mainstream politicians.

We're people, not flags.  Most of us are the same.  We just want to be able to earn a living, look after the family and live in peace.  Sadly, the politicians don't think this way; we're just pawns on the chessboard.

While it's wrong to attack individuals here who show a flag of the country where they live, there should be no defence of attacks on human dignity.  Pogroms are occuring as we speak, whether it be Moslems in the former country of Burma or Jewish people across the world because of the intolerable situation of the Palestinians.  Take away the flags and the borders and most of us have everything in common.

The last comment by 'a880' dismays me.  'Know your enemy'????  What, the Japanese people are our enemy now?   Maybe take a look at John Pilgers documentary 'The coming war with China', may explain a lot. Though you won't read it in the corporate media.

They didn't make any discriminatory statement about Palestinians. You made that up, which makes you a liar.

Nice. Do you mean friends on chess or in person? We are all different, and even where I live, there are different Jewish communities. I have found most of my friends are actually non Jews. 

now you have a third. But at almost 50, I took an interest in the Bible looking at it as a book of stories. And I see no reason to stop at the Old Testament (the part I learned about in Jewish school). I am not even close to getting through all the stories.

  But some, in the metaphorical or symbolic sense are very interesting to me. Some just don't make any sense to me at all.
