do you carry a pocketknife?

I'm not a fanatic about knives, but I've always carried one. Typically just a basic Case or a Swiss Army. And I can remember when they let you fly on a plane with a knife in your pocket. :-)

I have a brother who's really into knives, but I just view them as something handy to have if you need to cut a piece of string. a cord, or a rope.

I started carrying a knife, after a mugging attempt a few years ago.
Since then my mugging attempts have been a lot more successful.

I have quite a number of knives that I've managed to acquire over a lot of years. I carried a Gerber LST for about thirty years before I lost it. I had another within a week. I originally bought it for backpacking because of its light weight and corrosion resistance. It quickly became my everyday carry knife. It's light and small enough to go almost unnoticed in a pocket but is still big enough to do some real work if needed.
