Here’s why

This is how you say step sister in French

Beau sœur
Beau means beautiful, weird right?

This is 97 in French
Quatre-Vingt-dix-sept
That’s 4x20+10+7
Also weird

It's not that strange when you consider that "ninety" is basically the elision of "9x10".

I don't know which version might be correct, or maybe if both are ... I googled it before I wrote my post and I believe now that both are valid. Man, three years of HS French, and I'm reduced to this. What a waste of time that was.

You might think that French is weird but other people might think English is weird

That’s true, I don’t have anything against French, I like it, it’s just funny sometimes

It's "je m'appelle" which is correct. "Je suis m'appelle" translates as "I am call myself", which as I'm sure you'll agree doesn't make a lot of sense.

Hee hee, nah you're right, it doesn't.

But I swear that I saw the two versions appear in (otherwise unintelligible) French texts during my brief Google research earlier. Maybe those, too, were written by non-native speakers ..
