Nothing! What do you do having joined a group? Nothing! It seems there is a whopping number of 'silent members' in every group. They contribute nothing!

Groups are little more than breeding grounds for chess geeks with nothing to say. They irritate the crap out of you by posting notes like : Hi all, g'night all and ,of course, have a great day!

Groups are for people who have a need to belong to a herd but lack the personality to join the forums.

I run a group that is really a front as it is the secret head office of the chess revolution, we by-pass all the problems of other groups by simply not inviting anybody. I can therefor claim to have to only practical and honest group on the site.

Groups are also about as much 'fun' as a scorpion raising it's young in your nose

Then you get groups with a theme, these are even worse than regular groups. Do you like Bilbo Baggins and wish you had hairy feet? Then join the Hairy Feet Group for fun and exciting times!!! We will rock the chess world! .....4 members, 2 of which hasn't logged on in 5 years , a missing SA and one guy who actually really wishes he had hairy feet that keeps coming back to the whitened skeleton of the group hoping he will meet his true love there someday.

I spit on group invites.

If groups were fruit then chess groups are cabbages.

And one last thing: I liken chess groups to traditional German food, they stink.

Man, I really hate groups.

I do feel better now though ,it is like I had that bottled up inside of me for song long I never realized how much I needed to let it out.

Inactive group members are annoying. Better the few who play in matches than the many who are merely a membership statistic. some serious culling of the dead wood is needed.

Groups are dead wood
