Yes a gun actually has a use, it saved me once when I had to scare off some social misfits who tried to get cute, and my brother in law had to kill a home intruder at 3 AM , his wife and 2 children were very lucky he had a "useless" hand gun.
I have a nice Taurus .45 I got a a gun show a while back. I keep it next to my bed with a full mag and 1 in the chamber just in case of the unexpected a-hole creeping around my house at 3am. Here in NC you can carry unconcealed without a permit but nobody does. For concealed carry you need a permit. Dodger don't listen to European Commie sissys, they haven't had any freedom since about 3000 bc. If there had been people with a firearm at those shootings there would have been FAR fewer casualties.

I live in Arizona, where no permit is required to carry a handgun, either open or concealed, just buy it, walk out the door with no waiting period, and strap it on your hip or stick it under your shirt.
