You could also say there is not such thing as Christian paintings or books by that logic

There is no such thing as "christian" metal or rock; or pop for that matter.

I disagree wholeheartedly - the Bible tells us to "sing and dance unto the Lord" - it doesn't say "Only listen to classical music or hymns from the 18th and the 19th centuries."

All music before and after the 80s is evil

You're being facetious, aren't you?

There's so much hidden agenda'd subtle erroneously influential lyrics out there, you're far more intelligent to listen to the Christian aspect of it, such thrashing, or it's too easily demonic and hidden garbage and I'm actually fed up with that and choose only uplifting lyrics with no hidden agendas, but lol to each is own. 😂

There is some excellent Christian metal - Stryper is still together after 40 years as a band and Michael Sweet sounds better than ever. Metal singing is a very specific skill and requires a lot of vocal training - it actually has a lot in common with Broadway singing(belting). And lyrics make the song evil, not the melody.

That's what I'm saying.. lyrics are very subtlety influential

#44 You're taking that WAY outta context there. There are rules that God established for music, and rock follows virtually none of them

Tell me those rules plz

#47 I can't list all the rules myself as some are more technical in nature, but there's a good video series that explains it all, called "pop goes the music". Is recommend watching it if you'd like to know why music can be bad

And there it is, what you JUST said. Music CAN be bad. And it can be good. If metal or dance or country or pop or jazz causes a particular person to stumble, then that particular person SHOULD avoid that type of music. When it comes to music, there is a lot of flexibility allowed, which includes many different kinds of instruments(per the Bible, the timbrel, the harp, percussion, etc.)

#58 There is no flexibility in God's law. Tho the instruments you mentioned have no problem when played properly.

I did not intend for this to happen
