The cancer began on post 1 with a kid who still thinks feelings for the opposite sex are cringe.

Look, all of you young people, you don’t have to take my advice if you don’t want to, but take it from an 87 year old, love (like geniuses, or more appropriately, Chess Players), is created, it born.
While I could care less what people feel about each other in the romantic sense, I do think that Chess.com should frown upon their site being used exclusively for dating, as opposed to Chess.
I understand that there are people with different opinions. I respect that. I respect that they have the courage to say what they feel, even if other people don’t agree.

1: NO! Chess.com was never meant to be a dating site, and all people caught dating on here should be banned on the spot.
3: Under no circumstances should people be allowed to date on Chess.com. They should get a warning about it before they get banned.
5: Yes, dating on chess.com is fine, but only if it is kept in a chat between the two lovers or in a club specifically made for dating.
8: Yes, and they should be able to express their love in chats and public forums, they just shouldn’t take it too far.
10: Yes, under any circumstances should two people be able to date and express their log for each other. They shouldn’t have a limit for what they can do since chess.com wasn’t meant for kids anyway.
More like a 4 or 5 I'd say. chess.com is intended for chess, so chess should be the focus. If some people want to chat dating, seek relationships with chess players, or similar, then I guess they are entitled to their own freedoms so long as it is done in the right way (time and place for everything) and doesn't violate chess.com tos.
Is dating a problem in general? I don't think so specifically, but too many will use threads like this as an excuse to obnoxiously post and this is what others may report as trolling, abuse, stalking or similar.
All and all, the goal of chess.com is chess, so that should be the emphasis of chess.com members; if you REALLY want to try online dating, there are MANY sites and apps for that; why should you use chess.com? You probably shouldn't. It isn't optimal for the one dating and it isn't ideal for the chess site anyway, so just generally don't do it.
Now if two members get to conversation by meeting on chess.com and choose to date ("online" or in-person) from that, then that is up to them but this has nothing directly to do with chess.com; just where they happened to first meet.
But then again, even though chess.com was meant for chess, there are lots of forums that are off topic (Get this forum to 10000 posts, most annoying players, etc.) and chess.com even has a off topic place to post stuff. I would be say a 6.5? Imo dating between 2 chats should be allowed and clubs made for dating are ok, but taking it to a level where it bothers other people and derails the topic should be given maybe a warning idk
