How I Managed To Cripple the Entire Chess.com Community With Just ONE Post

J O K E

there were probably 50 people in the thread, half of which were trolls
Are you implying that trolls are somehow less valuable than the other members?

which guys, the trolls or the other guys?
The other Guys.
ikr they are dum6

@stopvacuuming This is why you were banned from the Forum Elite club. While I disagree with many of the club's actions, I agree that you are taking the insults and "roasts" to a malicious extent. Please stop - one more time and it's a block.
More like pathetic attempts to turn on a microwave

Do not hijack threads, troll, or post distracting or meaningless content
is a community policy. This covers trolling and posting distracting or meaningless content.

But then, I realized that was just one out of millions. If he was so gullible to believe that @Ayushchessmator's general knowledge of chess was so poor, surely other people would be as well.
...
Some, such as @BoomerZoom, took it so far as to report me for "Verbal Abuse", like when did I ever verbally abuse anybody? Anyways, please enjoy life on the chess.com forums and don't join the humorless bunch.
You just impaled @shiviam2627 with a verbal knife. Shame on u.

How did I verbally abuse ? It is the truth - he fell for Ayush's prank. What part of that do you find offensive?

He's not the only one. Therefore, those whom have not figured it's a troll thread and suddenly will be sobbing

unironically this is low level trolling but chess.com is so dumb it worked
It’s harsh, but it’s true!

I forgot the part about you saying that a blithering idiot would have to fall for you not knowing, and then you referred to as one of those many "blithering idiots"

En Passant is a much more sensitive topic than it sounds. Perhaps it should be compared to discussions about cheating, religion, and politics. All of these topics have the potential to inflame wars and upset people; en passant is no exception.
Largely inspired by this joke forum, claiming that Iranian prodigy, Alireza Firouzja is an IM, not a GM, I gave my stab at a troll forum of my own. Intuitively, I believed that it would take a blithering idiot to believe that I, a 2200 rated player, would not understand one of the principal rules of this beloved game. But then, I realized that was just one out of millions. If he was so gullible to believe that @Ayushchessmator's general knowledge of chess was so poor, surely other people would be as well.
Having recently established myself as a star on the chess.com forums with several thousand profile views and points, I expected this forum to be a huge success. I was not disappointed. The forum "blew up" as they say, and temporarily even went viral on the Reddit forums. Within four days, the forum surpassed 1000 comments (I was sure I would receive an interview from chess.com in no time), and at the time of writing, currently contains 1,275 comments, all of which you can find in the forum "His Pawn Cheated and Killed my Pawn!" I'm sure that the number would be higher if @david the moderator had not moved the forum to the category of "Fun with Chess" upon noticing the sensitivity of certain members.
But that's not all...
My forum inspired the creation of several other forums, that either inquired about the issue or protested at my take on it. Here are a few of them. The most notable among them all is "Let's get it straight: En passant isn't cheating" by @Lc0_1, with a whopping 15,000+ comments!
- Let's get it straight: En passant isn't cheating. by @Lc0_1
- What even is en passant? by @notoxicsalt
- EN PASSANT IS NOT CHEATING by @kaipingorkai
- Is en passant cheating??? by @JeshwantVana
- En passant by @GrandMasterNoob21
- let's stop the conspiracy theories by CM @Chessdemon2019
The forum even gave me my own personal fan club: chess.com/club/we-hate-2ke21-0, which has now sadly been disabled. To further intensify this "cult", I created my own club, protesting against en passant, but I have now disabled it out of concern that I am in too many clubs.
How the success, sir?
Tons of credit goes to the site CEO, @erik for his article, "His Pawn Cheated and Killed my Pawn!", which I based much of the forum's content on. In the ensuing comments after the OP, I did my very best to impersonate one frustrated at losing for en passant, finding false but reasonable arguments that claimed it was illegal, including that chess.com's articles on en passant were a cover-up for the glitch a site contained, and that in over-the-board chess, such a cheat would not be allowed. Throughout the forum, words such as "on/ant peasant", "en croissant", and "onpondosdont" were used to refrain from mentioning the official terminology. To avoid people recognizing a troll based on my relatively high ratings on my profile, I pointed them to my daily rating of 1100, which came to be so low as a result of timing out in many games. @SNUDOO was so kind to even create a blog post enhancing my argument: On Peasant: The History of The HACK and HOW To Do It. But the most effective technique was expert endorsements. Special thanks to CM Rohan Takru and NM Benjamin Chen for actively supporting my argument as a testimonial, and enduring ten kids a day, private messaging them, claiming that their title was fake! One person claimed that not all titled players would know every rule of the game. I didn't know that not all pilots knew how to fly planes! And although they aren't titled, thanks to @st0ckfish for also supporting this rant!
And just as I was inspired, I inspired many others to create their own troll threads:
- Why is Stalemate a Draw? by NM @1e41-O
- THE HORSEY HACKER JUMP by @goldenwriter
- CRAZIEST CHESS SWINDLE AGAINST A GM! by @Roger436
I feel it safe to reveal my humble intentions now, as the forum appears to be "dying" at the moment. Nonetheless, I feel I've left a lasting effect on the chess.com community, especially to those who were fooled by my prank. Some, such as @BoomerZoom, took it so far as to report me for "Verbal Abuse", like when did I ever verbally abuse anybody? Anyways, please enjoy life on the chess.com forums and don't join the humorless bunch.
Annoying ones too.
That's why @ZoomorBoom hates u.
