I just don't like someone who makes a quick draw with Wesley So last round in a major tournament where the result would have had major implications for the rest of the field. Yet, when I bring this up, I am attacked repeatedly for not being as good, or having a GM title, etc. etc. Can't somebody just have an opinion? Bill Cosby was immune to criticism as well, look what happened there... DN is just a &*#$ chess player in my book. Big coward for that crap he pulled, and should be despised by the chess community. We want competitive chess, not quick "I have to get back to school" (the actual excuse he used) excuses in last round, and you take a quick draw with the white side.

...and just for you haters. I don't give a Flying *$^% what you think. I don't care. It's great being able to express ones opinion. The chess community is extremely bottled up when it comes to that.

For those who don't know, you are going on about the US Chess Championship, which ended in April.

Naroditsky told Chess.com he just wanted the tournament behind him. He hadn't been playing well, and an effortless draw with the top player would allow him to leave St. Louis "without a bad taste in my mouth."

"I don't have anything on the Berlin," Naroditsky said. "I don't know anybody who's been able to crack Wesley's Berlin in the last 18 centuries...I'm not the most combative player.

"I'm a bit out of gas at the moment...It's somewhat unprofessional but fully within my rights."

speaks for itself.  He has nothing on the berlin? w t f...

kid is a million excuses...picking ones that sound good too. Come on, think a little harder people.

If he had said, I took the draw because it guaranteed me "X" amount of dollars, I would have respected that, and not said a god damn word. But he lied, like a little bitch.

@BoilingFrog The way you write speaks for itself. If you really wouldn't care about the "haters" you wouldn't address it in the first place.

Let me tell you something, Daniel Naroditsky doesn't care about what you say and so should you. The way you're talking about your fellow chess players (masters or not) shows what kind of person you are. You're a national chess master. Shouldn't you love chess and the community around it? You're attitude doesn't fit into what the chess.com-community stands for. If you don't like the community then just play chess and spare us with your hateful comments.

Really, so I should feel nothing but love for him? He's in the US Championships (pretty prestigious considering that's what- 16 players) He is on top board playing tournament leader. They walk out together (on camera), are seen colluding together, then he comes back and they make a quick draw. Then, after the game, he was supposed to have an interview with Yasser, Jen, and Maurice- but instead he just walks out, like he doesn't give a shit, and afterwards- gives the above excuse. If that doesn't reek of 1. entitlement 2. insulting chess players intelligence 3. violating basic rules & etiquette, I don't know what does. The sad thing is nobody has really chosen to call him out on it. Yasser actually hinted at it, by bringing up the "quick draw" debate, and how it left a sour taste in his mouth, but that's about it. I think he deserves chess fans everywhere an apology.

Honestly, I don't care if he apologizes or not, he's already shown his true colors. Yeah he's being so nice here, he's great for Chess.com. You know... he likes comments during his games. That's special. (Walks right out of US Championship post tournament interview). Seriously, they give this kid a full ride to college? He should be extremely appreciative and cognizant of the fact chess is the reason he's where he is.

Personally, I have to question a lot of people here for thinking this kind of thing is acceptable. It's like titles are ends in themselves, and all that matters is the title, not the person. I thought we learned something from Fischer?

How do you know when someone cares?

When they try and impress you with how much they say they dont care.

I dislike pointless rants, lacking in humor.

Add a little humor (please) or take a chill pill, for your own health.

Yes, Daniel N. is the usual prima donna.  No surprise there.
