Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t everyone with a rating of 1000 or above start out as a beginner with the equivalent of 100 Elo? And doesn’t Chess.com use the Glicko system?

As long as you were a 1200-1400 before you’ll be fine in a month at most

#24 don’t know if it’s different for website and app but I started at 400 lost one match and truly started at 220 elo

100 is an impossibly low rating. That is even worse than someone who doesn’t know how the pieces move and is clicking completely randomly because sometimes you will claim a win for your opponent’s dropped connection getting logged as an abandon. Going from 100 to 1000 will draw suspicion for sandbagging, something for which I’ve seen chess dot com users banned.

To get to 1000, just review the first few moves in a legitimate opening, select a longer time control so you can think about tactics without making impulsive or reflexive moves, and keep playing puzzles to drill tactics.
