It would be okay until the rest of the human race became extinct or evolved into another form. Then it would be kind of boring. And it would really suck when the sun starts to expand and heats the earth to molten temperatures in about 1 billion years. Kind of hell on earth. Otherwise think of the wealth you could accumulate, the women you could romance and the empire you could build. Within ten generations you would be running the illuminati.
If you could live forever... but with one catch

First of all, I'm talking about living forever on this earth, the earth that we're living on right now, as we know it. Not any sort of afterlife. So basically if you could live to an infinite age, but with one catch, which is...
You cannot die. Ever. Not even if you wanted to. For as long as the earth continues to exist you will keep on living, whether you like it or not.
So... if, hypothetically, you were presented with the option to live forever in such a manner, would you accept it?
There's an easy answer. Absolutely not. What happens if/when humanity goes extinct or migrates to a different solar system (the sun is going supernova in a few billion years)?

Also, all your friends would eventually die, and then what?
Speaking of that, has anyone seen the movie Tuck Everlasting? I belive it's by Disney.

Loophole - you could get yourself made brain-dead and kept alive on a life support machine.

The answer would be to create an embryo bank with all your wealth and become a genetic scientist and repopulate the earth (imagine the possibilities there) teach them how to build starships and migrate away as well. Or if you can't leave, change the earths orbit through asteroid flybys to move it further from the sun as the sun heats. Then move it back as it cools, you've got all the time in the universe. Simple. Hell yeah I'd do it, sign me up.

Well... maybe you decide that it's actually a more fun place once humanity becomes extinct? I don't know - just throwing that out there.

Actually the sun will not go supernova, it's too small. After the red giant phase it will shrink to a white dwarf and last for roughly a trillion years. An earth in close orbit around it could theoretically last just as long. Mine the asteroids and comets and you'll never run out of resources.

Not that I have suicidal tendencies or anything, but I just can't imagine living that long without eventually getting tired of everything.
If the question were "Do you want to live till 100," then I'd probably say yes. 300? I'd have to think about it. Forever? Most likely not.
Definitely not. 100 years would be optimum.

I think I don't want to live forever if I have to keep reading posts like this
That's a pretty appropriate emoji at the end.

Nobody forced you to read it.

you should learn the difference between a post and a thread before you imply others are brainless. dum bass.

It sounds like either u peni'th or your mouth when you talk like that. It sounds more like its referring to your mouth though when I get to the "lasting for roughly a trillion years" part.

I would not choose this because you could be in a war but you see all your friends die or you could see the earth be destroyed and live you could live in the sun feel the heat but not die so all of you guys who said yes well rethink about it what if your children keep dying. So really think about it

according to the rules, I would be able to live on 'earth' forever, but what if after hundreds of thousands years, I decided to pay for the trip and die on the moon? does this make sense???? and as for your loved ones.... well just make new friends :D
lol... Very Clever! I hadn't thought of that. But my original intention was to refer to the world that we are currently living in now, as opposed to any sort of afterlife, religious or otherwise.
Then again, maybe I was also thinking about excluding the possibility of life on colonies on other planets or celestial bodies. It's been a while since I created this thread. But anyway, I guess for the purposes of discussion you can interpret the criteria however you like.

Nope I don't want to watch my loved ones die
