IS IT SAFE TO GO TO TOURNAMENTS YET...3?

I don't think you should make such a bold statement like that. I think you should listen to your primary care physichian. He'll take into account your medical history and your famaly's history. What if you have an allergic reaction to HCQ.?
Of course I'd listen to my PCP, but that's the plan I'd pitch, and he'd have to have good information to get me to change my mind. I wouldn't characterize my previous post as a "bold statement" - I view it as a logically thought out decision, devoid of politics. Just because some scientifically-challenged person recommends something, that doesn't necessarily make it a bad idea. You just have to ignore the ignorant comments and look at the data yourself.
If you'll permit me, I'd like to elaborate on my comments. I'm not trying to convince you of a particular treatment protocol. I should only care about *my* situation - It's your responsibility to decide for *your* situation.
What I *am* trying to get across to you is that I think you're letting your political beliefs blind you to the best decision-making process. In the last few years, I've had several events occur that opened my eyes to how often we get horrible advice from our so-called medical experts. I quickly learned that you can't afford to accept *anything* from a doctor at face value. Research everything as much as you can, and question everything. Anything less, and you risk a poorer outcome.
There should be a way to put a gold frame around that,

Given the current circumstances with the virus its pretty well impossible to discuss it without involving politics. Its our politicians who decide actions to take and I dont see how one can discuss with out mention of such.
It's very easy. Many people have done it. I'll give an example. Today, in our state, we had zero new deaths. But several dozen new cases. It's the first day since March where there were zero new deaths. So as of today, the odds of dying from covid19 are slightly better than yesterday, which currently stands a little less than 0.00002%.
And there are MANY actions we as citizens take that dictate how this will go. In your normal day to day routine, politicians have no say in most of what happens, or at least they shouldn't. What we do is going to be more important than what politicians do, so the focus should be on discussing what we do, not what they do.

But ordinary peoples know nothing about corana virus and they NEED a leader that is elected TO PROTECT THEM!
And that leader should follow the guidelines from scientific experts if he care about the peoples!
If that doesn't happen you get in big troubles.

Well that's the age old question isn't it? Which people need leading and which dont? For example, our leader said that kids MUST stay in school. I disregarded that leadership and ignored it. I took my kids out of school while it was still required. How many more people would have or could have got sick and died if I followed that leader? Our leader was not leading correctly so she would have to either follow or get out of the way. To her credit, she chose to follow.
The point is sometimes leaders have no clue what they are doing and it's always wise to make the best decision, for yourself and your family, based on the best information available. I agree there will always people who have no clue what to do and rely completely on their leaders, since leading themselves is just too much work.
A good example is currently in WA state one county is disregarding the governors order. The county voted to start opening up. That doesn't mean a free for all. Most residents totally agree on taking voluntary protective measures. But since the state orders are too heavy handed the local community decided it should take action, and the state is still allowed to help if it wants.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way. The state was not leading correctly, so it's going to have to either follow or get out of the way.

No good leaders are perfect! and your governor is one of the best and the smartest in this case but no one pretend that she is perfect or that she will not make some mistakes!
If you follow your president your stupid because he is very bad!
No one asked you not to use your common sense!
But not everyone have a common sense.....just look at those protesters that are mostly anti science and anti public health care!
No one asked you to follow blindly because even a very good governor like the one you have cannot be perfect!

Well.....without getting political... PG said....the people in HER state didn't listen to the governor and took their kids out of school. .....An admirable decision.
The governor of Georgia wants to open small business tomorrow..
So the $64 thousand dollar question becomes...... Do the people of Georgia listen to the governor....?....or do they stay home.? We will see, this time tomorrow.

I'll venture a prediction. The people will listen to the governor. The real question is, "How bad will the spike be?"

With the next most important question being "Will our hospital system cope?", as the mortality rate is obviously higher when people can't get the usual standard of care because of the number of people requiring hospitalisation and/or ventilators.

PG always repeat the same thing to put down her governor but she doesn't acknowledge all the right decisions her democrat governor did and that is why they have so few death.
She is biased! and she love Trump she said that she rate him 8/10 in his handling of this crisis.
She is against the only thing that saved ten thousands of life since 3 months, the lock down.

UPDATE (Thursday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. PT) — Public schools will not reopen again this school year, as the state works to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus, Gov. Kate Brown announced Wednesday.
In a widely anticipated move, Brown extended a March school closure past its April 28 expiration, ensuring that students and teachers will not congregate in person before summer break.

Imagine if you will for a moment an exercise in life & death. Where an entire state is CLOSED for business. Hair salons.....tattoe parlors.....Gyms......bowling alleys. It could happen in any galaxy but for the sake of argument this dilemma is set in the friendly state of Georgia. Don't adjust your television.....the following presentation is real. Submitted for your approval, one Mr Brian Kemp who is about to embark on what some are saying might be the worst day of his life....both in his mind......and in The Twilight Zone.

They all close the same date:
late Thursday, March 12, Brown pushed out the word — every public school in Oregon would close on Monday, March 16.
Maryland will close all public schools from March 16 until April 24, the governor announced.
D.C. will close public schools from March 16 to April 24, Mayor Muriel Bowser said.

“Supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light. And I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but we’re going to test it,” Trump said. “And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, either through the skin or some other way.”
As Bryan looked on uncomfortably, the president went on to speculate about the possibility of using disinfectants as a treatment.
“And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs and does a tremendous number on the lungs,” Trump continued.
“It would be interesting to check that. That you’re gonna have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me, so we’ll see.”
Asked directly whether Trump’s suggestion that injecting bleach or using light to treat COVID-19 made sense, Bryan said his laboratory was not pursuing those ideas.

....after everything I do for that man, he's just itching to lock this thread. Every night I go out on patrol risking my life for this site looking for trolls......do I get a thank you from david or Erik.? No, instead I get a F-U. I'm gonna join the Kohai club....its terrible the way they treat me..... ...the other day for no reason at all Erik offered me some hydroxychloroquine.
It's good that you're having fun with the latest HCQ-bashing "study". Instead of looking at the HCQ issue from a left-wing vs. right-wing, political perspective, I'm trying to look at the issue from the perspective of, if I got the COVID-19 virus tomorrow, what kind of treatment would I push for so that I increased my chance of survival?
Based on everything I've read so far regarding HCQ and other drugs such as remdesivir, I think I would still opt for HCQ, with the Zpack and zinc. I wouldn't try to take it if I only had minor symptoms. I would also get an EKG both before going on the meds, and during the protocol.
I don't care what others decide to do or what they think - I only care to do what I think is best for me. and, of course, my opinion might change as new data comes in.
having fun? oh, sorry, are there peer-reviewed studies that show hcq works?
oh, nevermind the possible side effect of heart failure.
you are also discounting that you might make it without the drugs mentioned. you state what type of treatment you would "push for" without knowing the danger/possibilities. basically, you are saying you will dictate what physicians will do.
good luck.

I tend to look at the first point by the OP in threads such as this.
Ron said ' discuss anything pertinent to the current situation' .
I think comments and actions by our political leaders do affect our lives, with lockdowns, quarantine etc , and in conjunction with comments by medical experts ( often standing by leaders) it seems quite ridiculous not to reflect on their actions and advice.
Avoiding this is in my view just ignoring the ' elephant in the room' no matter what ones political views may be.

I mentioned the EKG screening. That would check for long QT issues, etc. related to heart probs.
No, AFAIK, there are no peer reviewed studies of HCQ yet - only some doctors with good results (who also use zinc in their protocols). But if I got COVID-19 tomorrow, I wouldn't have time to wait for a peer-reviewed study, would I? That's the whole point.
I'm not sure I'd characterize it as "dictating" to my PCP. I'd listen to his ideas, but I'd sure as heck tell him my opinion. If he could tell me where I'm wrong, and if he had a better idea, then I'd go with his advice. However, right now there doesn't appear to be anything better - early results of remdesivir seem to be pointing to it being a flop.
I didn't know you use to be a nurse.......God bless them all.
Yes 😊 I had an 18 yr career as a nurse before retraining in various computer courses, programming and a degree, had a tech job just prior to Erik offering me a job here.
