What is the most inspiring music/song?

 For me it is

 a) R.Kelly "I believe I can fly"

I love this song. The first time about 9 years I heard this song I was quite down, I hated my job because my boss always put people down and threw his temper when he couldn't cope with work pressure. I couldn't find another job because of the economic downturn. This song really lifted me up and make me forget all my troubles at work.

b) Kelly Clarkson "Breakaway"

Great song...motivates me to try something new.

What is your most inspiring song/music? Laughing

I just adore anything by Nick Drake. However if i had to pick one song it would probably have to be "Northern Sky" from the Bryter Layter album. This song is just so beautifully delicate whilst being profoundly moving at the same time. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't yet discovered the wonder of Nick Drake to do so now!!!

Cursive - Babies(Happy Hollow)

              Big Bang(Happy Hollow)

              Bad Sects(Happy Hollow)

Pedro the Lion - Rapture(Control)

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Curse of Milhaven(Murder Ballads)

For a song to be truly inspiring, I feel it needs to be genius both musically and lyrically.

not all music needs lyrics to be inspiring. I think they get in the way most of the time.

If the song has lyrics, and they are in a language that I speak, they need to be good.  There are some amazing instrumentals and songs in languages I don't know, though.  Bjork released some outstanding songs in between the Sugar Cubes and her solo work on an album called Gling Glo.

Is there a way to insert special characters in these text boxes?

Sometimes music can be inspiring because of the situation/circumstances ones in. It could be the dedicated songs that a loved ask in the radio. It could be bro going to war and the songs for him....etc

So that particular music means something special to you but not necessary to others.

Lousy, Nick Drake was fairly unsual as an artist. He died in the 70's after only having release 3 or 4 very low key albums. His last album, Pink Moon, was release only a couple of months before he died of an accidental overdose. At the time his albums had only sold a couple of thousand copies. However after 20 or so years post-mortem obscurity, several of his tracks were used on film and television soundtracks and gradually interest grew in his work and he has grown to now be recognised as a genuis of his time.

one of the most inspiring pieces of music ever heard , has no lyrics, samuel barber's adagio for strings. this piece can bring tears to the eyes through its dramatic and beautifully haunting performance! i personally dont find pop songs too inspiring, but to each his own, viva le difference!Smile
