Players who just let time run down when they've lost

Takes a lot to irritate me normally but I dont understand why some people (quite a lot actually) let the clock run down when they realise they are about to lose

Do they hope i'll get bored and quit gifted them an underserved win?

At the end i get a message saying they will be investigated but often when i click on their profile its obvious from other people's postings that they do this all the time - does anything actually happen to players like this eventually?

Which profile is obvious, in Your opinion? Who 'll be investigate? what about?

i am not naming names on the forum - thats not fair of me - but its not just the one time i've had someone wait for the time to run out rather than make their last move - and when i've clicked on their profile others have commented

I understood, I agree with You. However, I know time to move Chess seldom can depend by a server error (ERROR SEVER: SOMETING WAS WRONG. SORRY!) or an internal error into the web site. Well, I didn't ever put up with this fatal "out of time" until now

The same happened to me this morning. The player I was playing was 200 points higher than me. When they seen the were losing they let the time expire. After the game I looked at thier profile and noticed they had only lost 1 point. What gives?
