It was real and a pop culture craze exactly 30 years ago that went on to fizzle out in a year or two. People collected them thinking they’d be worth a ton but only a few have any value now. They were massively mass produced for those few years and should be easy to find collections of even all these long decades later. I’m not surprised young people now have never heard of them and think they’re something new!
#5 oh yeah i think i know know them but it’s a different name for me. i think it’s simply called SLAM where i’m from, it’s very similar in the case that you slam the cards, but there was only one and each card was the same size and weight (including slammer card). we ended up drawing on them giving that the original designs were boring asf

So there is this awesome new game called POGS that has all the strategy of chess combined with the agility of a game like darts or tiddly winks. It’s so popular that it is getting banned at some schools in my country because the kids are so excited about it that they can’t sit still or focus on their studies!
The best part is that it’s collectible and you can make your set have all the personality that you do. Who will have the most best set of your friend?
The game is played with small artistic disks the size of milk disks that each have a totally awesome image printed on them.
Another disk is much heavier and called the Slammer. Radical!
You and your opponent take turns throwing your Slammer at your stacks of POGS.
The ones that land face up are yours to keep. For real. It’s winner take all.
POGS is becoming the game of the future. When everyone here is forget about chess, we will POGS as next thing everyone plays!
