Oh wow Socks. Thank you so much. Nice to see you again. Do I really add that many exclamation marks?

But, this is taunting the mute bots, something I swore not to do after my mute.

Hmmm, a most profound statement ! thumbup.png 👍

There's a saying which I like very much.

Blame is the opposite of responsibility.

I think the chess.com moderator was happy that I was willing to accept responsibility for whatever post I made that caused that member(s) to go to full moon and Human Resources on me.

Though I was not given a dissertation on what post it was that angered the member(s) in question, the fact remains that I told chess.com that "Yes, I'll make amends."

Technically speaking, I gave chess.com hugs and they don't even know it!!!

Intriguing!

Yes dear, it is. "Blocking and Reporting" is "Blaming" whereas "Making amends" is "Taking responsibility."

Define, making amends please

OK. All my posts are meant to be light and humorous and friendly. This is how I convey all my messages on chess.com.

Unfortunately, not everyone agrees. This is the way how society works, I accept it.

I was reported for "trolling" because someone didn't agree with my approach on how I was being light, humorous, or friendly. I can even be sarcastic at times - it's easy for people to take offense.

When I said "make amends" I was expecting the moderator to give me a dissertation on what exact post I had made to ruin someone's day, but, they felt that it didn't need to go that far. "She's fine, unmute her." they said.

OK Then Ripley. It's fine. I agree. Let's get this thread locked, but in a good way.

Maybe it's because there's a bot programmed to search for capital words in exclamation marks. This bot automatically mutes anyone writing in capitals with exclamation marks because that's the way angry insults are delivered. But the bot don't have any idea about the content.

Then, after the muted person goes to staff, it's reviewed by a human that realizes the content of those capital words in exclamation marks are appropriate and unmutes you.

Staff doesn't want to tell you why you were muted because they don't want to reveal how their bots work.

Isn't it possible?

To check this theory out, just we need someone saying several times nice things in capitals with exclamation marks. I don't dare to make this experiment, is there anyone brave enough, please?

So you mean december wrote that much exclamation points?

The reasoning for my theory is that she was muted right after this post:

That was exactly the post she wrote before being muted.

I think it's logical to think that chess.com staff don't have humans reading everysingle post in the forums searching for a bad word. They must have a code or a bot that search automatically for bad words, am i right?

Off course, they have moderators that are human, but they don't have time to read every single word in the forums, they need bot's help.

That bot was programmed searching for capitals in exclamation marks, because that's the way people write when they are angry or insulting. But the bot wasn't programmed to interpret the meaning of those capital words.

Maybe i'm wrong, but that's a possible explanation.

And chess.com don't like to reveal how their software anti-Sea-eating works, just in case people find a way around it. In the same way they don't like to reveal how their software anti trolling works, so that people don't find a way to insult without being detected. Is that right?

So, they can't explain to december what's their mistake.

So, as an experiment, i'm going to write exactly the same words she wrote to see if i'm automatically muted by a bot....

Hi @52yrral ! happy.png

Right now i'm waiting to see if i'm muted by the automatic bot. I think it needs more time, i'll wait for 24 hours at least. Let's see what happens.

It's possible that the bot is fixed after a human from staff realized that december muting was a mistake. We will find out in less than 24 hours....

No the auto bots never wait. They pounce faster than a nano bug bytes!
