THE EARTH IS FLAT!

What so something twice as big as you (a predator, at that) runs over to you and shouts at you, with claws and large teeth- it's allowed to feel threatened.

Personally I'd never take my cat on a beach- the dogs would frighten him, and some may even attack him.

How many cats attack postmen unprovoked?

Well it is true that the reason you can't go for a walk with your cat is because

1. Most of them wouldn't come.

But some would, so

2. Dogs would attack them,

It's very true that they won't come. They leave when they want, not when you want.

Dogs would attack them? You make it sound as if dogs are lions that kill on sight.

Most dogs wouldn't bother. One or two might bark at it (if you pass so many in the first place) but that is most likely out of interest or wanting to play. As shown in the video, the cat might be the one doing all the attacking.

Look I don't know what you mean, when carrying my cat in a transporter several dogs would run up, bark, and do that thing were they walk on their hind legs and try to (of course most often playfully- but not fun for the terrified cat!) jump on you/the transporter

Postmen, again, might be seen as a threat to the dogs. Similar to how the cats see the friendly dogs as a threat. Again, the dogs are trying their best to help.

"Personally I'd never take my cat on a beach- the dogs would frighten him, and some may even attack him." Cats and dogs never really got along, but the dogs aren't as aggressive as you seem to put it. They attack postmen because the post man looks like a threat. Why would they, then, attack a cat 2 times smaller than them with an owner, both not disturbing them?

You must get the fact that dogs aren't machines that kill.

They are different creatures suited to different types of owners. There are some cats who can be trained to do anything, others are more vicious then a genetically engineered super villain rabies-infested machine gun wielding mule being asked to push something, and there are some dogs who wouldn't move for the world and would ignore their owner, some would be terrified of everything and independent.

Ir depends on the creature and the owner!

I mean I don't think dogs are attacking- but they are often too playful and don't understand what's playing and what isn't. Others (few) ARE vicious, however. (Pitbulls, for example).

This is from my experience, at least.

So what's your point? Cats do not go well with dogs? Well, they don't! What did you expect?

JustOneUSer
Just saying that they are generally slightly more likely to scare cats and appear aggressive unprovoked.

That's true, but the majority of dogs act similar to what I've described. And the majority of cats act similar to what I've described.

Yes, pitbulls are generally a little more vicious than other breeds. But then again, that's what pitbulls are meant to be!

Yes, that's true and I totally agree.

There. We can agree on some things, at least.

-cats are lazy and arrogant
-dogs are generally slightly more aggressive, or at least over energetic, especially towards cats.

I'd say dogs are equally energetic towards other animals.

But besides that, yeah, I'd agree with you.

JustOneUSer
And cats have more class. 😎
Iam2busy

Class? Well, if "class" means being obnoxious, then, yes.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say such an atrocious thing. Yes, I am a Christian, so there's no claiming that I don't know what I'm talking about!

But really, why do you think that the Bible preaches FE?

Let me destroy all these misinterpretations.

It's pretty stunning that this thread hasn't been locked yet.
