The Great Question (A.K.A. BLUE or RED button)

#16 because there are many people who care about themselves more than they care about others and they can justify picking red by saying that everyone can just pick red.

Bcuz if YOU pick blue, there’s still a chance that more people pick red, and then you die, BUUUT if YOU pick red, then you have a 100% chance of living, no matter which side wins. MEANING if EVERYONE is aware of this, if all pick red, then everyone lives, no matter which side wins.

but at the same time, if everyone's aware that blue means everyone, INCLUDING THEM, survives, then they'll pick blue

if even 1 more than half picks blue, then everyone still lives

also this part doesn't make sense, because in your argument, it DOES matter which side wins

Also press red. I didn’t read it, but I js think of the Matrix

I'm still checking and making sure that there's no stupidity there from time to time haha

#21 don’t get me wrong, I care for others, but logically red is the highest chance of survival, even with the uncertainty of not knowing who picks what, so if everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, takes into account that red is the safest option, then everyone will choose the safest option, and live.
There is a logically worse chance of survival if you choose blue, therefore if this is taken into account by everyone, then there’s no risk in the first place. The red button has no risk. The blue button DOES.

And what about the lives of others?

Avatar of KaiserKatz
Well if others choose red, they will survive too

I JUST SAID THAT IF EVERYBODY, EVERYBODY, PICKS THE SAFEST OPTION, THEY ALL HAVE A 100% CHANCE OF LIVING. WHAT PART OF THIS DO YOU NOT GET???

THIS ASSUMES THAT EVERYBODY CAN PROCESS WHAT I AM SAYING HERE DURING THEIR TIME IN THIS DILEMMA

I’M SAYING EVERYBODY. EVERYBODY.

the red button has no risk individually

if one person chooses red then that one person lives

also you say "if everyone takes into account that red is the safest option, then we all live"

what are the chances of that?

but if >50% of people think blue is the safest, then EVERYONE lives, no matter what colour they chose

as a single person, yeah, red is the safest

but as a group it just makes sense to go for blue so that even if some people go for red, everyone still survives

as i said, your whole argument hinges on whether everyone (that means EVERYONE) chooses red

Blue is the ‘I believe in humanity’ button.

Red is the ‘I'm paranoid' button.

It's really that simple.
