I've already accepted that the self doesn't exist and all there is is the natural universe . But love ! What's that all about ?!

Wow anok what a great post . To love ideas . Interesting . I love the idea of Liberty . Freedom .
And yet my friend what would this idea mean without a person or people in mind ?
For example when I think of Liberty I think of a person escaping racial oppression .

That's interesting Fh. Familiarity breeds contempt . Most of us would help a stranger in need but we would think twice perhaps before helping someone that had been awful to us . I'd like to think though that most of us would help anyone in need .

when i was younger i was taught a model of love it is somethin you might recognise
i would clean myself put on my smartest clothes buy flowers and wait whilst "she did her hair" all the while smiling at the father giving me evil looks for wanting to be with "his princess"
as i got older i found that none of the ways i was conditioned into thinking of how love grows actually mattered
i could tell you stories but they are my memories and im keeping them close
on helping one who has killed someone you love ? depends doesnt it , if say he was the survivor of a car accident that killed my love , yes i would help ,
if they had wilfully sought and suceeding in killing someone i loved probably not ,
we agree that love binds us yes ?
so part of that bond is to defend and protect each other against whatever comes our way
so i might if my lover was murdered by an evil person , attack that evil person
I think id be capable of harming anyone who harmed a child..but thats one of my passions, you never hurt a child.

Obviously - Any child that young..{even if 'retarded'} - Possesses, an imprint of the Divine..{whom I believe that eons ago- God, decided, to share that basic quality of His of 'Love'}.. Even if we are 'clueless' - {as I consider 'Tom' to be}.. re. its' Original 'source.'
'Btw' the 'lovable' and presumably loving, child below, was "Charles Manson"! {True}. - Just a thought - But given, that we All live in a basically 'Deterministic' universe/ paradigm.. {a view of mine, that quite recently, underwent a 'Sea change' transformation - thanks, to that 'YouTube' "Sam Harris -'free will' video!}; Who's to say, who the 'Real' "Charles Manson" ..{or Anyone}, is !? ..{rhetorical}.

So you guys are happy to are happy to admit that you'd ignore the suffering of someone that had caused the suffering of someone you love .
Even go so far as to say you'd happily seek to hurt them .
Is this love ?
Love is about rewarding people that please us ?
Not for me . For me love is about caring for people regardless of how they treat us or anyone else .
Otherwise what we are talking about is nothing more than a reward and loyalty system . Like supermarket coupons .

As for does love bind us . I'm aware there's a chemical the cuddle hormone . I'll get the name . Generally though it's beauty that binds us and love is the consequence .
I think though that an agape love causes us to care .

I personally don't believe Charles Manson is to be condemned any more than mother Teresa but I'm aware that if you hold the view he chose to do it you'll not agree .
