Why would a block-bypass thread be created in "defense of free speech"? If I am being abused by someone, here or on chess.com, I block them. That's free association, by the way.

I don't want to devolve into politics here, I just wanted to raise the issue that blocking people is a matter of personal safety on the person doing the blocking.
