Why would a block-bypass thread be created in "defense of free speech"? If I am being abused by someone, here or on chess.com, I block them. That's free association, by the way.
Whether you think I blocked someone unjustly or not is not for you to determine.
I don't want to devolve into politics here, I just wanted to raise the issue that blocking people is a matter of personal safety on the person doing the blocking.
I recently blocked someone on X who emotionally abused me. Blocking is about safety.
