I think this would be better placed in "Off Topic" instead of "General Chess Discussion", since the question isn't related to chess. I couldn't recommend a good breed because I don't know much about dogs. My favorite breed is the Pomeranian, though.

Amazing. A friend of mine has a slightly wild but obedient and loyal breed is a cross between... pitbull and doberman

I was the 2nd owner of my English Cocker, I got him when he was a little over a year old and first owners let him run wild. He was almost like a feral animal... imagine letting a dog in your house and it immediately jumps on a table and starts knocking stuff over, and just completely ignores your presence. It was horrible heh.
When he had food, if you walked within 20 feet of him he'd start making some vicious sounding snarls and growls. That was the first thing I worked on. Had that solved in just 1 week (I got bit once, but not hard enough to break the skin, just leave deep purple marks heh).
But that was years ago. He's very well behaved now. Extremely sweet dog. Good with kids and strangers, and other dogs, etc.
Woolly recommends a border collie , lovely dogs but need plenty of exercise.

That is the key. I have told my parents that if we are going to adopt one that is retired from the Civil Guard and thus, it will come trained
