You can still be dumb with an IQ of 130+. It just depends on your meaning of the word 'dumb'.

I have an IQ of 130-140, if the test I did when I was seven is still accurate. I suppose it is because I still enjoy brain games as much as I did back then and I do quite great at them. But I'm struggling to keep up with the various variables of society.

Many people have the arguably dubious prejudice that only people with a low IQ have an intellectual disability when oftentimes people with a very high IQ are struggling just as much to live their life and find their place in society. Perhaps even struggling more, since their brain thinks faster and more than others.

High IQ can be helpful in deciding how much you’re capable in carrying out certain complex problems. I have got a good example, suppose you’re provided with some common desk tools, then will be the most efficient device you can make from those tools?

Wildekaart

That's not really a good example though.

Wildekaart

I suppose I should give an example myself. The test here is not if you can solve it, but how fast you solved it. The first one should take you around 7 seconds, the second one about 15 seconds. On average

Problem #1:

A + A + A = 18
B + B * B = 12
C * C - C = 6
A * B - C = ??

Problem #2:

rebus2k

A+A+A=18 that means 18/3=6 A=6

B+B^2=12 that means B=3

C^2-C=6 that means C=3

So 6*3-3=18-3=15

and i solved that in around 10 sec, jusrt had to type answer and i was late to see it

Vibhansh_Alok

#2 should open

It can also be like this...

A+A+A=18 so A=6

B+B*B=12 so B can be 3 or (-4)

C*C-C=6 so C can be 3 or (-2)

so solutions for A*B-C can be 15 or -22

i feel so stupid wtih a 128 iq that everyone is flexing things so much higher than mine

Ah thanks guys, I was really struggling with these tasks!

Also, @Vibhansh_Alok shows the true beauty of these problems. It doesn't happen often, but sometimes there is another answer besides the obvious one. I remember a trick question which was about a test where everyone gave the wrong answer. It went like this:

"The product of the three integers x, y and z is 192.
z = 4, and p is equal to the average of x and y.
What is the minimum value of p?"

The four answers were: a) 6 b) 7 c) 8 d) 9,5

But... No one gave the right answer.
What is the right answer?

You'd assume the answer is 7. But, the trick here was that was assumed that the integers needed to be positive. But that was never mentioned. So the actual answer was -24,5. You can work it out for yourselves, I have high hopes.

And yes, this trick question was based on an actual test.
