Can I get a trial diamond membership?

My friend who was a free member got a free diamond membership while I've been a premium platnum supporter for years, could I get a free trial Diamond membership too?

Also, do I pay $7 to upgrade from Platnum to Diamond or $14.

you do pay only the difference for the upgrade. 

tell you what - upgrade to diamond, and if you don't like it, then before 30 days is up, ask for a refund on your upgrade price. 

Ok, cool, I'll probably join & pay the difference (gotta prep for the World Open!), I doubt I'll be asking for my money back.
