chess.com need to stop the ads. This is unethical bait and switch.

I agree that they went too far when they changed the Game Review button to a Comet browser ad but they quickly changed that back.

Otherwise, a few banners on the Chess.com Today page is interesting. I really don't look at that page very often. I sometimes like the event banners letting me know about events they sponsor.

At any rate, that page doesn't interfere with game play, forum use, puzzles-- the things that I mainly do.

There has always been a little * that says that premium members still will see site banners and event notices.

Where?

No, this is just chess.com's own partner's ads

Read it again. NO ADS. I don't care if it's partner ads or not. I paid for NO ADS.

Stop paying. They'll happily refund you the portion of the premium membership fee you haven't used yet. They'd probably be open to refunding you the full fee if you're only a month in and it's not what you expected.

If you live in the us, why not call a lawyer? Maybe you have a case here to sued chess.com for misleading advertisements.

They removed the browser ads for premium members several days ago.

It's one thing to point out the inaccuracy. It's another to continue to ... ahem ... continue to fuss. Once chess com knows about something, if you still don't like it after their response then go elsewhere please. This site has a gazillion great things - complaining continuously about such a small thing suggests people are simply bored or want something to complain about. Just my two cents.

And those who are throwing a fit ... come at me, bro. I understand your frustration but you're bringing even more of it upon yourselves and I'll happily ignore you anyway. wink

I got an email from chess.com to say that there was a bug with one of the days which now appears to be fixed. Glad that they paid attention to the feedback forum and took the appropriate action.
As far as I am concerned this issue is closed and no more discussion necessary. I'm unfollowing.
