I think chess.com are very generous.  In the site I have checker clubs in you need paid membership to even be in a club.  So appreciate what you have here.

Erm no, if one site is even more of a rip off doesn’t mean arranging groups of your interest should have to be paid for.  Chesscom already makes loads of profit from non members from adds and selling your personal data

You've seen the books to see how much ads generate versus paid memberships? And the amount of profit after paying for staff, servers, bandwidth, sponsored events, etc?
