Option to block countries - Chess Forums - Page 8

Please add a setting page where I can select countries to be blocked. The block should be based both on IP addresses and flags. Add also a switch specific for tournaments: if I decide that the block works in tournaments too, I'll accept a loss if a user from a blocked country is selected as my

But yes, sorting by location is discriminatory. That's the point. Choosing (or filtering) based on location is something we all do every single day. A lot. We will choose something from one location, but intentionally block out others. That's kinda how life works.

I would say those who intentionally bring up race, in order to elicit some sort of response, are the ones trolling. I'm sticking to the subject matter, the option to block countries. Which are locations, and NOT personal characteristics, like hair color, gender, height, weight, race, etc.

I didn't even think of that. That way if there is extra cost or effort associated with the additional filter it could be paid for by premium members.

Hahaha..... yep. I'm sure a giant % of them have made more than 1 account. The more accurate # has to be under 10 m, maybe 5 m or less.

That number.....77 million....is the number of accounts since 2005. Yes, many people have died and left,....but the number continues to rise.

Well, the number of accounts here should be positively correlated with the filtering capabilities, not negatively correlated. So if there are 77 million accounts, this means we should have many filtering options, not just ELO_max and ELO_min, which I always have at ±∞ anyways.
