The matchmaking is broken

Hi everyone.

I want to complain about the local matchmaking system here, which is totally broken. I'm a newbie to chess and I expect to play against players of an equal skill level. Instead, I constantly face opponents whose displayed rating is ~500-600, but their actual skill level is much higher. For example, here are a few of my recent games:

As you can see, my estimated performance matches my current rating, while my opponents perform at twice my rating. Why don't the algorithms push these players to their true rating bracket? It's very demotivating to constantly lose to clearly stronger players.
