Somewhat true, I have been matched with 100-300 elo players when I was an 800 (I mean come on, fix the pairing system).

When you create a new game, you can tell it what ratings you want to be matched up with. If you're being paired up with players outside of your range, then you haven't set them correctly. The pairing system is fine.
