IDK I'm starting to like the new UI in general, while still disliking the removal of notes, followers, and adding messages to trophies sent to friends.

I think the new profile page is great. It focuses more on chess and less on social media. Most of the people on this site come here for chess and the new design makes it easier for them to check the stats of their opponent when starting a game. I do think they should bring back notes though. They could just put them in another tab after clubs.

The chess stats were already visible to the right of the page, and while the placement was less prominent previously than it is now, it displayed more chess-related information with fewer clicks.

Now, there is less chess-related information visible, it's just that what little information remains, is more prominently placed.

Likely the designers were given an instruction to "make it cleaner", which is a common instruction given to web designers, which often results in what we got: less stuff than we had before.

Oftentimes, the aesthetics of efficiency (fewer things visible at once) are valued more highly than actual efficiency (more things visible at once).

Notes is, er...was a thing where you can post small announcements or chat with friends in public on your profile.
