That does sound pretty annoying.
Sadly, your opponent probably doesn't understand English and will never understand what he has done wrong.

Perhaps, but I wish the developers of the site take note on the issue in order to fix the "new game, same opponent" issue.
You´re absolutely right. Many times I have to wait a lot of time and then as the other player doesn´t move I abort. Then it appears that message. In one of that oportunities I click the name of the guy and he was playing another game but he didn´t resign when I was playing with him. So I think the system should not allow any other game if the player has not finish the last one. By the way you play very good!

Only premium members can play two games at a time; I do not know why the site allows this
Even if premium numbers can play two games at a time they should not be allowed to play one and the other stop because he´s losing and he doesn´t resign; so you have to wait 15 minutes or more; then you abort and get the message that you can do that, etc. It´s something bizarre!
It would be ideal if this didn't happen. However, a player can solve this by blocking their opponent. Then they won't be paired up with them if they press new game.
did you try swearing and yelling at the other opponent. it seems like a common tactic on this site when you don't want to play that opponent again.
Simple solution, why not just get rid of the abort option limit? I don't understand why they would give us the option if they don't want us to use it. Anyways take away the abort option limt, at least you won't be punished. Also, (if this is possible), not allow players who ask for a new game after a five minute or more timeout to play another game. I am sure chess.com could do this, but I really don't know if it is possible.
Then people will just abort games where they are black so they always get paired as white.
I like the original post and agree with it 100%
I especially like the thought "So basically I am being penalyse with this annoying messages for refusing to play (abort game) with someboody who the system knows that has just violated the fair game policy agianst me, and I already expressed my explicit wish of not wanting to play this opponent again by pressing "new game" instead of rematch".
Why not simply suppress the penalty warning when the abort is applied against a known "fair play" abuser?
they allow it for simuls and I like to be able to play 2 games. Why shoudlnt we be allowed to play simuls just because some jerks dont play fair?
My issue is that I do not feel comfortable playing an opponent that has a weak connection (signal.) So, when I abort this player it assumes I'm a poor sport, but the site will then turn around and punish me. I've had chess.com give me the same opponent I previously just aborted two more times in a row. And the reason I'm here posting now is it gave my clear win to my opponent. It's not right. There are other reason not wanting to play somebody than being a poor sport.
Dear all,
as we all know, after finishing a game of chess, we have two options offered by the site if we wish to further play: One is to play a "rematch" (agaisnt the same opponent) and the second option is to play a "new game" (new opponent).
Recently I have discovered, that when opting for a "new game" the system searchs for available player from the pool of all online players at the time with matching parameters, including the player you have just played. I believe that the system should be instructed to veto the player you have just played, as one explicitly is informing it that he do not want to play with that player again in the following match, otherwise we should simply press "rematch".
I know that still, the probability of finding the same rival again is small, but it is a posibility still, and that probability rises when the parameters matching opponents are so tight that the system has discarted the bulk of online players, and few are left who match.
Now this might not look like a big issue in practicality, but let me ilustrate how it can be annoying by describing my own experience.
My score is around 1400, and I always set the parameters to play against stronger players, so often I have to wait longer for the system to find me a match.
Recently I played against an opponent named "VanesyanHmayak" and won the game (http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=864561974). He offers a rematch, so I accept. After 11 moves of the second game, he leaves and I have to wait for over 26 minutes till his time is consumed and the game ends. (http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=864572659).
The typical message showed in the chat box: "anesyanHmayak may have violated our Fair Play policy - it has been noted and they may have their account restricted."
All of us who have experience such behaviour by other members know how annoying it is, the more the longer the time kept waiting. You might think that maybe he had some emergency and had to leave living his PC on and with out resigning nor signing off.
Well, here is my surprise, when after the game is ended and I press for "new game" (and apparently "VanesyanHmayak" also did accordingly) I find that the system has match us both again for a game!!!
Obviously there was no way I was going to play him again and have him keeping me waiting for nothing an other 30 minutes, so I aborted the game.
I then pressed for "new game" again, and AGAIN, we are match togherther, so again, I press abort.
The third time I finally got match with some other player, but since then, the system keeps poping me this messages each time I start to play about "not aborting intencionally or my accoun will be restricted"!
So basically I am being penalyse with this annoying messages for refusing to play (abort game) with someboody who the system knows that has just violated the fair game policy agianst me, and I already expressed my explicit wish of not wanting to play this opponent again by pressing "new game" instead of rematch".
I believe that the solution to avoid this situations is not very hard to implement (excluding the current opponent from the "search pool" of matching opponents.
Any how, I know that the chances of encountering a similar scenario again are slim, though this will keep on happening to other members (and why not, maybe it happens again to me) till its not fixed, so I just wanted to rise the matter.
Best regards,
(ps. love this site, congrats)
