This is undeniable and the proof is that in all cases the response time on the V3 site is much higher regardless of the browser (Fierfox, google, chrome) or operating system (Windows, Android ...) !! ... I tried all the tests and the slowness of the new version is unfortunately confirmed !! ...: - ((
I like being able to sort my "current games" by "number of moves" so I can get the games over with that are almost over with ... but I can't sort like that way in V3 in the "current games" window.
Ok... I'm now using V3. Going to give it a proper go before I diss it.
First thing I notice though, which supports what others have said here, it's painfully SLOW!
I use v3 on a phone browser and desktop and while some things sometimes load more slowly, most of the time I don't notice an issue on either.
That said, part of what is seen as slowness may be the possibility that v3 has less dedicated resources because v2 is the default site. I have no real insight into it but think that is very possible.
V3 is much better for playing than V2 in live. Very smooth.
Also, in V3 I can't post in VC games or on news items.
Doubt they're both on the same server.
I'm pretty sure they aren't. However, I don't know what the backend looks like and v2 may be load balanced over mutiple servers and v3 may not be at that point yet.
My guess is that performance will likey improve when v3 becomes the default.
You can't even creat custom themes no more!! Only pick from a certain list of stuff.
I'm working on a v2 theme to glitch into the new software so I have a custom theme, and am not stuck with the new look!!

You can choose the Custom theme to pick and choose different elements and upload a custom background if you want.
You also won't be able to "glitch" a v2 theme to work in v3 as the theme code isn't the same. You could always create custom CSS for the site...some browsers support that.

You currently don't. It has come and gone a few times. Not sure if it is coming back or not.
Now I can't play daily chess. Made my move then went to go click on the orange checkmark and saw my pieces go back to their original position. Submitted a bug report; but this is ridiculous.
CaptainPike, also in daily chess if you have "go to my next ready game", it used to take you to the next game, by next I undestand the one that follows. Now in V3 it takes you over and over again to the game in which you have less time left. A ruination!

They are gone. My understanding, from earlier topics, is that photo albums won't be implemented in v3.
@nimzomalaysian Obvuiously no one knows so ask some other thread. Also I think that We should work on improving V2 not making a new v3 We should take the good attributes of V3 e.g. the variants of live chess and add it to V2.
If you read through earlier topics when erik talked about v3, you'll see that isn't going to happen.
What might happen are some changes to the visual design of v3 but all the backend stuff was rewritten because adding things to v2 was going to be harder than designing cleaner code for v3, that would be easier to update going forward.

Really? Where is Chess.com going with this? Little by little they're killing every social aspect of chess possible on this site.
How difficult would it be to just extend the feature to the new site! The new site should be an improvement over the previous one, not the other way around

I always think about that when I saw the complaints and when I use V3.
I think V3 is sabotage. Someone inside chess.com is paid by competitors to mess with this company.
Just saying.

Otherwise it's hard to explain why anyone would take a loved platform and substitute it with an unloved one...
