chat box does not come up by defaualt if your opponent says something

Hopefully staff is considering to take back this change. Currently, when someone types something new in the chat box, it's displayed first.

If any new chat is posted to you by your opponent in the game, the chat tab appears first.
if you say so dude
i have one game where it is showing, a recently started one, the rest it just flashes briefly and then shows 'moves'. and you can yawn all you like 'kco', we don't all live in the forums on here, i don't care if this has been discussed before somewhere else.
I also prefer the old method

i seem to have the same problem with the chat box ,i like to play and chat at the same time ,i guess im still learning bcause when i play with some one they dont chat back,kind of boring if any one likes to chat and play at the same time let me know i like good conversations during the game
well, the chat box doesn't appear on my computer, and there's no indicator that there's a new message (like there is with the iPad/iPhone app), if my opponent sends me a message. I can't tell you how many "dude, you're a fabulous chess player" messages I've missed out on because of this. Or that's what I tell myself at least.
A social site requires social interaction with friends and ease with which to do so. Few people join a chess site purely for chess - might as well play a computer if you did.

I tested this on a game I created.
PlayerA creates game and is playing white.
Chat tab is ON
PlayerB turn to move - chat tab is ON
playerB (in this case PeaceKeeper) enters chat.
playerA (kohai) responds
If no response is entered and sent back to the opponent, the Default goes to Moves tab
As soon as they type something else in as a reply, it shows as Chat
It feels like a telephone call with a time delay.
Maybe I spoke too soon. I'm sure you're right, and I'll look for this to play out the next time my opponent chats at me. Thanks,

thanks for explaining Kohai, i think it is because i made a few moves with my mobile, then when i moved again when online, the chat wasn't appearing because there had been a lapse, i wondered why it was there in some games and not others, now i know
