If you want to return to the new format, you can:

- Change your Theme to Chess.com (Default) https://www.chess.com/settings/themes

- Choose left nav (click on the nav icon up top)

- Choose to show Grid of games on /home

- Hide your profile from /home

Those are the differences.

Think I'll just stay on the /classic but thanks.

I really don't mean to offend anyone but my immediate reaction to v3 was WHY? But, like anything else, after I worked with it for awhile, I started getting used to it and now like it. You just have to give it a fair try, ask for help with issues and hang in there. I feel it will be worth the effort.

Rewokatrat

real slow and not intuitively obvious (at least not to me) and there are a number of items on the home page that I don't want and can't get rid of...very disturbing...change isn't always good...

I absolutely hate it.  Far too slow and jumpy.  Cannot see things at a glance.  Worst move chess.com ever made.  I am a premium member organising lots of lots of tournaments and if I am forced to use the new version, I'll leave.  Right now I can't revert to classic and I hope that is just a temporary bug.  Otherwise, by-bye chess.com.

Martin_Stahl

You should be able to switch. What happens when you try?

wearsider

As well as losing V2 now, I have to log in again everytime I visit.  It's slow enough without that.

wearsider

The link is there but when I click it just jumps about a bit (as it always does) then stays on V3.

RickRenegade

They sent emails saying you can still use the old version, but when you click on the old site button it jumps back to v3.

chungle

The new site is crap.  Slow and useless.  They are foisting this garbage on us because they are too cheap to maintain the old code.

leosfeet

way too slow.  This is garbage.

usernaym

The sliding switch for rated/unrated  does not work properly and it doesn't say unrated no matter which way you slide it (on v3).

chungle

The switch back link is bugged...they're working on it. We should be able to go back to the REAL site in a bit.

Just turn it OFF and that is unrated. Good feedback!

Surprising to see the comments on v3 being slow. Using Windows 7 and latest versions of both Chrome & Firefox, I do not experience any delays or lag. It's all instantly responsive.

CrystalMoon

The "Old Chess.com" or the "/switch" url doesn't seem to work.  Anyone wanting to switch should probably send in a bug report.

I don't see that either... in fact I'd been using v3 simply because of its speed but with the new format, I use it because it's both faster and sleeker.

Oh, I see, thank you very much.

Every thing I type on V3 takes some seconds to materialise.  My computer is not particularly old or slow.  On top of that it all seems to be broke at the moment.  Keeps kicking me out.

I have an 8-core computer and 120mbps line, v3 takes 3-4 times as long as v2. Nothing should take so long unless it's laden with full res pictures

Well, tried to log in.  Once again forced to new site. My biggest complaint about the new site is in an attempt to make the site look new and edgy they have burdened us with excessive amounts of black to contrast against.  It's really not necesssary. Then when I tried to log in to the old site, it logged me out and left a 504 message.  The headers, the links are all ok but not fantastic so I assume some of the upgrade is about the programming underneath.  I just don't know what was so terrible about the old site that they keep trying to force us into a new site that just isn't ready and is really grim.

I don't understand why there's such a disparity in load times.  I'm using a second gen i7 win7 FF ver50  on a wired connection (25mbps) and v3 is TERRIBLE versus v2.  I believe others saying they find it responsive and so on...but that unfortunately isn't everyone's experience.
