New 3D Chess Board Suggestions

Firstly, I'd like to say that this is an amazing new feature, and I love it!

However, I think there are a couple of things that could improve it even more.

1. Allow zoom in/out... I don't know if this is available yet or not, but I can't figure out how to do it.

2. Add more contrast for the black pieces... At least for me, it's paticularly dificult to destinguish differnent pieces that are black with this board. The problem becomes even worse when viewing on a laptop without full brightness. I find the queens and the bishops are very hard to destinguish. 

3. When viewing the board from a very low angel, the shading around the edges of the board goes wonky. 

That's all I have. It's a great feature, and I hope you keep up the great work. I have been a Chess.com member since 2007, and I still love it! 

You can press down CTRL button then scroll using your mouse wheel but you can also do it without using the CTRL button. HTH! =)

I love the new 3d pieces as well. Ya'll should make a set like that and sale them, lol. There does need to be more contrast however.

Yes, I know of this, but I don't mean zooming the entire page, I mean zooming the actual 3D render. Is there a way to do that?

Also, I am using Safari on a Mac, so that might make a differnce, since the commands and controls are differnt on mac than on a windows. 

It is a Beta format, so hopefully they will improve it. As far as zooming the 3d render, IDK, I have a mac, and I can super zoom it. I can make a piece larger than my monitor, where I have to scroll the individual piece.

One other thing the tilt function (for the board) doesn't seem to work, so I think that needs tweaking as well.

Thank you for this information, but I already knew how to do that. That simply just zooms the entire page. It's not a big deal, but I thought it might be cool to zoom the actual board. 

Also, the tilt function works for me. It requires right clicking on the edge of the board and dragging. Use two fingers on a trackpad, or enable two-sided magic mouse in prefernces. 

Thanks Knightly. I guess I don't have the mouse enabled. Yes an actual zoom would be nice as well.

I tried a game with this and it looked cool but I lost badly.

Thanks for your feedback!! Ok so, first off, if you are using Internet Explorer, you will have issues with the boards as we do have known issues.

Regarding point number one, to zoom, try using your mouse's scroll wheel.

3. What exactly do you mean by "wonky?"
