Sexual harassment
You're right, of course, but I don't know how chess.com will ever be able to control it beyond what is currently in place:
- Chat monitored by computer for certain words with automatic muting for offenders
- Reporting mechanism for more serious offenses
What is your suggestion?
Yes I agree, it's a symptom of the internet, a minority of inadequate delinquents who are definitely not welcome here.
I agree you shouldn't have to turn off chat.
One solution (although you shouldn't have to) is to change your female avatar/ profile picture.
You should take a screen shot of any inappropriate/ misogynistic comments & report here (select 'Report Abuse' in the dropdown menu): https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/emails/new
So report the evidence & block them:
How can I block another user?: https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/articles/1444796 so that they will never be able to play or say anything to you ever again.
What should I do if another member is rude or abusive?

My opponent said some very abusive and rude things. What should I do?https://support.chess.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1444785-my-opponent-said-some-very-abusive-and-rude-things-what-should-i-do-
Also maybe the Help & Support forum: https://www.chess.com/forum/category/help-support would be a better place to post about this issue (you can change to that location by editing your Topic category if you wish).
It happen the same to me once and I am a boy :/ but I really dont pay much attention to the chat, I dont disable that because I really dont care, sometimes after playing some games I saw the chat and I see a lot of guys insulting me only because they lose, one of them was really crazy because I beat him been a piece down and he is a 2000+ player, the wrote all kind of stuff, I dont know why he was insulting my mother instead of me but again, who cares.
I've been here ten and a half years and that's never been my experience. Why do you think that is?
My guess would be that it's because you don't but a photo of yourself

And yet batgirl's comic pic is quite appealing in its way.
I'm not naturally one of nature's gentlemen, but what I do think of when I see batgirl posting is a level of knowledge of chess trivia and history that dwarfs mine to a staggering degree (and I can bore on about chess to quite an extent), and that's what focuses my attention. IOW, let the chess do the talking, if you can, and the harassment issue should become a non-issue quite quickly.
best option is to consider all body parts equal. oops! sorry i almost forgot this is a chess site with chess peeps, so you may totally ignore my impetuous interruption. btw isn't it time you shaved ? and i'm not talking about your bikini line.

Please don't interpret this badly batgirl's blogs are great. But your arguments don't convince me. I think that people who do such actions don't think that much about the quality of peoples blogs.
Yes, in that case they've also breached their Member Conduct in https://www.chess.com/legal#termsofservice, I would use the same procedure/ advice that I outlined in #3.
