Let's leave it the way it is. I agree that people who time out are annoying, but I can live with it. I like knowing how much time I have to make the next move. If you want a fast game, why not try live chess?
time options change for furn based chess

Instead of... time limit for moves.... 1, 2 or 3 days per move
how about time limit to complete games....for example....
a game must be completed in 24 hours, and if it is not, the person who made the last move wins.
So many times, when a player has a losing game, they seek revenge by making one move a day and can drag a fast tournament on for weeks to months.
With an option for a time limit to complete a game, we can have turn based chess for those who choose to play faster!
