I have a dream - rooperi, 2011
This applies mainly to regional/country based teams.
I think vote controls should all be shortened (or lengthened) by 1 hour.
eg 23 hours, 47 hours, 71 hours etc.
The idea is that the clock starts ticking at different times every day, to try and diminish the effect of time zones.
Depending on the time the move happens, one team can gain a big advantage, while the other team might end up with only a few hours for discussion, assuming these people sleep/work/eat or generally have any sort of life. (Remember, theay all probably sleep at the same time. If the timing is such that the move happens just at the time when many of the opponents come online, I think the advantage can be 12-18 hours.
Generally I think the team 6-8 hours behind in time zones will have the advantage:
eg.
Usa over Europe
Asia Over USA
Europe over Asia
If the time is offset by 1 hour every move, we will move through the full clock every 24 half moves.
