I was clearly ahead in a game that i had no reason to resign, and upon signing back on i'm told i resigned it. Do i have any recourse here?

Could we see a link to the game?

I recall seeing at least one other, if not two, posts from other players in the last year or so compaining of the same thing.  Search the forums -  maybe you'll find something.

Actually the same thing happened to me but on the other side, in this case it was a live game and I closed my browser because I only had 4 seconds left on the clock in a lost game (also my boss walked in lol) but when I returned later I found that I had won the game by resignation of my opponent (who was as confused as I was)

I don't have a solution for you, but I will forward that a player in the 18th 1401-1600 official tournament http://www.chess.com/tournament/18th-chesscom-tournament-1401-1600 was just asking something similar in the tournament comments within the last day.  That complaint was about a game drawn by agreement that the player says he did not agree to.
