I am thinking about playing in the US Open this year.Also, because it says "US Open" does that mean you can be OTB unrated and still enter? Also I am not taking this seriously because of my Chess.com rating.

The US Open is one big section. Anyone that is a USCF member can play. However, the prizes are rating based ...

You would have to become a USCF member to play.
