My GOD!!!!!! Years?
my current tournaments where I am eliminated
it is surprising how long some tournaments take to complete, for example
4th Chess.com Tournament (1401-1600)
Started on Sep 2, 2008
and still isn't done.
It isn't quite as straightforward as it seems: if something happened to the players placed above you, you could still move up the rankings and go through to the next round.
You could withdraw from the tournament at that point - without being penalised.
Thanks for the advice on being able to withdraw from a tournament. I've been beaten and think it unlikely to move on, so would like to join a new tournament. However I'm limited to only so many (okay, one, I'm not a premium member.) Unfortunately I can't find the option to withdraw on the tournament home page. Is that option available if there are no active games, or am I just missing it?
There are two tourneys that I have been eliminated from, and they have been 85% complete for MONTHS!
Is that option available if there are no active games, or am I just missing it?
I just checked. In one tournament I have no active games at the moment, but I will be advancing to the next round whenever the current round finishes. The option to withdraw is available in my tournament options box.
In another tournament I have no active games left, I will not be advancing to the next round, but the round I competed in is still underway. The option to withdraw has disappeared from the tournament options box.
I have seen this request a few other times in various forums but it it never seems to get much traction. It would really be useful to separate the "my current tournaments" list when you are still in the tournament versus the tournaments you have been eliminated from. A column with eliminated or active would be very helpful. This is especially necessary because some of the tournaments last for years and the list really starts getting crowded.
thanks for a great site.
