2024 Speed Chess Championship Main Event Prediction Contest
The Speed Chess Championship is Chess.com's most important speed chess event. Some of the biggest names in chess compete every year to see who can make it over the finish line, be crowned as the next Speed Chess Champion, and get their share of the $175,000 prize fund.
Main Event
This year's main event started with qualifiers on June 27 and 28 and, for the first time, it will end with a live, in-person final staged in Paris. Tickets are on sale now.
The players competing for a spot in the Paris finals are well known speed chess legends. GM Hikaru Nakamura returns to reclaim the title he has won a record six times—but lost in 2023 to his great rival, three-time winner GM Magnus Carlsen. Joining the two are GMs Fabiano Caruana, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Wesley So, Arjun Erigaisi, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, and the French top two Alireza Firouzja and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave.
Six more players joined the roster through the Titled Cup leaderboard, they were GMs Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Alexey Sarana, Tuan Minh Le, Jose Martinez, Alexander Grischuk, and Hans Niemann. GM Denis Lazavik's phenomenal performance in the SCC Play-ins guaranteed him as the 16th and final player to qualify for the main event.

How to participate
Click the button above to go to the 2024 Speed Chess Championship prediction bracket. Predict who you think will win each match all the way to the final. You get points for every prediction that you get right. The tiebreak questions are hard to nail, so a point will be awarded to the user who had the closest guess in each one. You win the contest if you have the most points by the end of the tournament!
Submit your predictions before Thursday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m. ET / 17:00 CEST to participate. Predictions will be locked after the deadline, so make sure you don't miss your chance!
