Speed Chess Championship Continues As 2026 Approaches
With less than two months left in the year, the Speed Chess Championship well underway, several recent collaborations and partnerships inside the Chess.com community, upcoming Chessable sales, and more, let's get right into this month's Chess.com Community Update. Here's everything this update covers:
Events

- With the Titled Tuesday autumn season almost complete, GM Magnus Carlsen still holds the CCT standings lead. Although Magnus already qualifies for the 2026 Esports World Cup, the top six in these standings at the end of the season will all make it, so every Titled Tuesday is huge.
- CoachChamps, a tournament where eight top coaches trained four players each, was a resounding success the week of October 7-10. You can read the reports for each rating group at these links: U800 | U1200 | U1600 | U2000
- Nakamura won the Comet Open on October 19.
- The round 16 in the Speed Chess Championship is complete, with several of your favorite stars reaching the upcoming quarterfinal matches, including Carlsen, Nakamura, and Firouzja. And it's not too early to lock in your ticket for the final matches in London!
- The Fall 2025 season of the Collegiate Chess League is in full swing.
- The Crazyhouse Championship finals are happening Friday!
- The FIDE World Cup is underway, which will determine three candidates for the world championship.
