CDs End Of The Year Blog: Part Two

Hello everyone! This is part two of "CDs End Of Year Blog"! Read part one Here!

In the last part, we left off in July, so that's where we will start. Please remember I am not reviewing any games in this blog, and please note that I am not trying to advertise any of my blogs or clubs. This time I'm not going to include my ratings for each month, I am only showing two games and two blogs from each month.

      July 2022

This month was fantastic! I learned a ton about chess.com and I was Finley feeling like I knew what I was doing. A lot was happening. Here are two of my best post in July 2022.

"What is chess KFC?"

 "How to play your opponent" 

Keep an open mind, I wasn't very good at blogging back then, but in my opinion, they aren't too bad. 

Now, let's look at two games from July.

Game one! I played as black. This was a 3/0 blitz game, and I won on time.

Wow! What a game right? I am still impressed with that win. It was a very poorly played game, but the fact that I won on time was amazing. I enjoy blitz a lot now, and I'm playing it more than ever.

            For this game, I was playing as black. It was a daily game, and I won by Checkmate.

We were about the same rating at the time, and I wasn't winning a lot of games, especially by Checkmate. It was a very fun game, and we both played poorly. 

  August 2022

Ah yes. The end of Summer. This is probably my favorite month. I was doing so much better in my chess. I was playing a ton, I was doing a lot of puzzles, and I did as many chess.com lessons as I could. But, it was a pretty crazy month for me. A lot was happening. So, instead of having blogs for this month, I will have three games. (My blogs for this month are just embarrassing.)

In game one, I was playing as white. I won by resignation this was a daily game.

I don't understand why my opponent quit this game. They were up by 7, and I had made a lot of mistakes. It was definitely an interesting game, and if my opponent didn't quit, I probably wouldn't have won. This was a very lucky game for me.

In game two, I was playing as white. I won on time, and this was a bullet game.

This Bullet Game was crazy! I knew I would win on time, but that's no reason not to try and Checkmate. I had mistakes, my opponent had mistakes, and that's how bullet games are.

In game three I was playing as white. This was a daily game. I lost by Checkmate.

There was really no hope for me. My opponent had 900 more rating points than me, and he always plays hard. I've been beaten by this guy twice. I will always remember these games.

September 2022

Ah, September. Just beginning to feel like fall. This is my favorite month for blogs. I had several blogs I posted, some good, some bad, and some really bad. I started getting a lot of advice from top bloggers in September. @fire and  @lightning were both fantastic bloggers who gave me a lot of advice and help to improve my blogs. They still were not great, but definitely not horrible.

"My Third Place Untitled Friday Finish"

 That was probably my best blog of the month. It was also the first blog I ever used with PGN game.

"Why Chess.com?"

This is a chess.com staff favorite 😂

Alright, now for the two games of the month. This is exciting! I was still improving, but slower in September, I was focusing on my blogs and not my chess.

In game one I played as white. This was a bullet game and I won on time.

Oooooof! This is why I love bullet. If this was blitz, rapid or daily it would have gone much differently. I would have lost by checkmate Games like this are always so hard, and your only hope is to win on time. Back when I first started playing I would always try and win on time, so I would make a ton of mistakes pre-moving. 

In game two I played as white. This was a blitz game and I lost by checkmate.

This game was over 50 moves. That seems like a good amount to me. Most of my games are less than 40. This game was hard from the start. I was trying to play very aggressively and it completely backfired. 

          October 2022

Ah! October is a very bad month for my chess. I put 65% of my time into blogging, 25% into my clubs, and 10% into chess. I wish I would have spent more time playing than blogging and working on clubs. I had some nice blogs that month, let's take a look at the top two.

"Questioning GMs about Chess" 

This was my take on @lightning's blog Questioning Non-Chess Players About Chess.

Yes, those GMs are fake. I was trying to make a comedy blog. Big fail?

"My Interview With Lightning!"

If you can't tell, I'm Kanda @lightning's biggest fan. 

I still have blogs that I started in October that I need to finish 😅

Now, let's take a look at two games from October. Remember, I didn't put a lot of time into my chess game for October.

In game one I was playing as white. This was a daily game for a tournament. I lost by checkmate.

What chance did I have? My opponent was almost 1300 and I was just about 900. A very hard game. I gave it my all but it wasn't enough. Sometimes, all you got isn't enough. 

In game two I was playing as white. This was another daily game for a tournament. I won by checkmate.

It's games like this that I remember. What a crazy game! I am amazed by this game. I did my happy dance when this game was over 🤣

  November 2022

Ah! Good old November. I finally started playing again! Less bloging=Better chess. I have to admit, I enjoyed my November blogs, and are probably some of my best in my opinion.

"Bot Battle"

I feel like this is probably one of the best put-together blogs I've ever done. It has a game, a good thumbnail, a good topic, and of course, some great games!

"Explaining Mistakes"

Yes! That right there is a fantastic blog! In my eyes, that is a perfect blog! Fantastic Thubnall, useful information, games, I think it is in my top three favorite blogs.

Now, let's look at some games! I had more time to play in November, so let's see how this goes!

In game one I played as black. This was Bullet Game, and I won on time.

Now, even though this was a time win, I was In a pretty good spot and I probably could have won by checkmate if I had a little more time. We were pretty evenly matched, and I really enjoyed this game.

In game two I was playing as white. This was a bullet game, I lost on time.

Wow. This game is pretty embarrassing for me. Especially because I call myself the king of bullet. I think it's time I retire that title lol! I'm not going to lie, I was upset by the game. My opponent was about 300 rating points lower than myself.

December 2022

Do you know why they call it December? Because it's de-cem-berrrrrrrrrr. Get it? Yeah I know, it's a stretch. Anyways,  this December has been a very fast one. It feels like it was Thanksgiving, and now it's almost Christmas (at least at the time I writing this). I have posted no blogs, and I haven't been playing a lot of games. I, like a lot of people, have been very busy this month. But not as busy as the big guy!

I don't believe I posted any blogs this month, other than part one of my end-of-year blog. So, instead, I will just have one game. My best game of the month. Let's take a look.

In this game, I was playing as black. This was a bullet game, I won on time.

What a game. Kanda is crazy if you ask me. I'm just glad I was able to pull out a win! After this game, I had a nice little losing streak that lasted a few days. 

The End At Last 

Well! You guys made it! I'm impressed! This blog took me almost two weeks to write, and my hands are so tired from all the typing! This year was amazing, my first full year on chess.com was so much fun! I am looking forward to another fantastic year!
