My goals:
1. I want to study chess in an organized way. I hope 21 days of organized study of the course will build my habit to create and follow my study plans after the course finished.
The structure of the study of Day 13 was the following:
- Theoretical section:
Today I studied a method which helps to find the best move in complex positions.
There is a 3 step method which helps to calculate faster, because we will calculate the important lines and not losing much time on unimportant variations.
Step 1: Calculate all checks, because they are the most dangeous treats. They can lead to checkmates ot material loss.
Step 2: Look for captures, because they can win material and then the game.
Step 3: Search for attacking moves. Moves which lease to checks, captures or improving the position of an opponent piece, or they can change the pawn structures.
Master game:
In the game between Euwe and Keres, white got a much better position. Strategically white has a much better position, so black needed to act quickly to create tactical counterplay.
I annotated the full game:
Tactics:
Pins and x-ray motives were the key in the tactics today.
I show you my 2 favourite puzzles:
Endgame:
Today puzzle was very hard. I figured out the key idea, but I was not patient enough to find the solution.
I analysed the position:
Conclusions of the Day 13 of the
