Not the blade runner version! All and everything about the coming World Cup on the 28th of August are welcome here. Predictions, opinions, analysis, anything goes. You can start with your predictions. Let's go. I'll start by predicting that our very own Wesley So will advance to the second round by beating Ding Liren of China! Maybe after seeing some of the early games, I will make my prediction on who could win the whole thing.

After 3 rounds at the AAI tournament in New Delhi, India, Caruana leads the field with a perfect score of 3points. Laznicka, who beat Wesley in the 2nd round, holds the no. 2 spot after a loss to Sasikiran. Wesley and Negi drew their 3rd round encounter and both have 1.5 pts. Sasi has a point, and Women world champ, Hou Yifan is still scoreless. Fabiano is playing almost flawlessly, so far. Viktor likewise looked as invincible as the Italian until Krishnan pierced his armor. Looks like Wesley has lost his good form pretty early. I was going to say that Hou seems to be overmatched in this field but she's to meet our idol in the 5th round and I don't want to jinx it. She might have her say and prove me wrong. :)
No. 64 in the Senior level No.3 in the Junior level ahead of Le Quang Liem of Vietnam.
Wes leads the above tornament after round 3

The Philippines stunned second-seed India 2.5 to 1.5 to trail leader China. Ganguly Surya Shekhar scored a quick victory over GM John Paul Gomez. But GM Wesley So restored parity by beating GM Harikrishna on top board. GM Eugene Torre scored a point against GM B. Adhiban and GM Joey Antonio helped the team's cause with a draw against Krishnan Sasikiran. Chief Arbiter Mr Casto Abundo could not hide his glee when his home team Philippines went home a worthy winner today. source: www.chessdom.com

Ako naman ang magtatanong? Can we expect support for chess like the Gloria - Pichay tandem?
THE WESLEY SO FOUNDATION The Wesley So Foundation has only one objective. A very straitforward one at that.... TO SUPPORT WESLEY'S QUEST FOR the World Championship... And there will be only one beneficiary - WESLEY SO... If you're not ok with that. Sorry you can't be part of the foundation... See, we need 5 to 15 trustees or directors to incorporate it... Why do we need to the Foundation, you say? Because we will be needing funds for Wesley's world championship quest and we will need tax breaks... For example, one of our immediate goal will be to sell Wesley's blog to the highest bidder and we can benefit from a tax exemption... And in case we decide on a fund-raiser, we can legitimately do so... Jun-22-10delete SugarDom: WHO CAN BE TRUSTEES? 1. You must live nearby Manila to sign the articles. 2. You must be a proven loyal and active supporter of Wesley So. I nominate: 1. Wesley So 2. William So 3. Leny So 4. Wordfunph 5. Sugardom 6. Pinoymaster77 7. Pulsar 8. Spawn2 9. Atty Nanobrain 10. Rusticbull 11. Kapmigz 12. Kidlat1994 13. Joeyj 14. Volunteers 2 I might be missing some more important names there. In case, please forgive me. Meantime, please confirm your acceptance here... Remember we will be needing the foundation for the computer and human clusters when Wesley fights for the World Championship. Go go go!!! Jun-22-10delete SugarDom: Je je...I forgot the most important guy...Reggie Tee... I better check Word's directory... Jun-22-10delete SugarDom: Who else? Kardopov Glen Bordonada Epistle Any more volunteers? It's not going to cost you money! Trust me. jeje
