Hello everyone so I want to get to 1800 rapid by the time i turn 15 (on August 17th) and i think the best way to encourage me to get there would to have something a stake for me. So all I’m asking for is something stupid I have to do if I can’t make 1800 by the time I’m 15.

A very cool opening, I try to do this multiple times but this is the only time I successfully did it and end up winning the game on time Another cool opening Credit for my opponent for using garbage against garbage I lose like 100 point just to do this I'll put more game here later

Does anybody know how to get an html code to embed a chess png (like the one below) to a website? Using the actual code here on chess.com doesn’t work on a website, it only works on chess.com

This took me an hour total of time of studying. This is all theory, there are ideas of stuff which I will find out later, but this is cool so I thought I had showed you guys. By the way, analyze all of your openings and then put them in a library to keep them on chess.com in case you forget theory, and copy them into irl notes. I didn't put much annotations because I already know a lot of ideas. Find them for yourself if you want to learn it! Here: 6.. h4 -- 5.. Nc5 -- 6.. Nh3 (Flohr Variation) -- 6.. bc4 -- 6.. N1e2 I forgot to flip the boards, so f.y.i flip the boards. this is for black mainly. This is probably the only time I will do this (I mean post, I will still learn theory and ideas) in B&M unless you pay up. haha jk. it isn't the best information anyways. Cheers!
I guess that's it for now, I'll do more during screen time
me no in memes, this is how im getting in the next one game no 1 from ze quad game no 2 from ze quad game no 3 from ze quad http://www.uschess.org/msa/XtblMain.php?202107178792-15764788 is the crosstable (no doubt b1z will come along and find every little mistake in my analysis)

This post is in the spirit of constructive criticism. I don’t personally see much learning happening in this club. It seems to be dominated by seasoned and strong players. Noobs of my sort are a small minority, or at least they don’t participate much. Granted, “beginner” is relative, and folks rated 1300 on chess.com are probably still beginners out in the real world, but still… Anyway, I would like to see a more organized effort in setting up things like recurring, scheduled practice matches, lessons/lesson plans for different levels of players, where groups of players of roughly at the same level can study together with maybe a higher-level player acting as a teacher… people are helpful here, and they’ve been nice enough to sometimes play with me and comment on my games, which they certainly didn’t have to do. I just wish there was more of that. Or maybe there are other clubs that are more targeted for that kind of thing? My 2 cents.

This is a position that came from one of my games and i thought it was equal. So it turns out this position is completely winning for black according to stockfish. Can someone explain me why this position is completely winning for black? I mean sure black has bishop and knight compared to rook but i dont think thats the reason.
assassin3752 Jul 25, 2021
Just giving away free ELO at this point. It seems after Kf2 white is uncontrollably winning. In this position, according to the engine, it seems I just gave up a rook for absolutely no reason, and I’m suppose to play the game as normal down a rook from here on… what do?

Here are things I learned with ninjaswat: 1) I probably won't have to ever post again here on the forums (I still will incase). That means ninja has been doing something right . F.Y.I. I haven't posted in like a question in a week, which is similar to ninja doing something right 2) Sicilian Variations 3) Lichess is great for puzzles (new user : bestunknownplayer, no report pls) 4) Inspirational Sayings Im only sharing one, which I want ALL OF YOU TO REMEMBER FOR THE REST OF YOUR CHESS CAREER! "ratings don't matter they only show your performance in past games" So you can't beat a 2000? Thats their performance in their past games, what about yours? Time to get to work.. Taimanov Sicilian: French Sicilian, Great Counter vs. Alapin, study this theory if you want to play the Sicilian. Hyperaccelerated Dragon ( I don't know a lot of theory, especially white's): Thanks, ninja. Next few weeks/months, I might even be one of the best at the Sicilian theory here, I can't thank you enough. Weapon for the tourney. Maybe a weapon against you?

So basically i mouse slipped early game and hit the takeback button real quick but he decided "nah fam deal with it" Since I accept all takebacks that are obvious blunders and mouse slips in classical I was pretty pissed so I resolved to beat him, and to be honest I was just really lucky but still, a win is a win

So recently I wanted to switch from playing the Italian to something else and I came across an opening I played ages back the Ponziani, I played it when I was ten in my first ever tournament and won all my games with white so I just wanted to post a little bit of theory about it as it might be helpful to many. Also this just part one (I can't cover all the theory in one forum duh) Part 2 will come in a few days I want players of all levels to fiddle with it and give their views
Context: I offered a draw, and my opponent said (in the game chat) "You are trash" and something along the lines of "I'll give you the draw, but I will troll you first" (maybe I misunderstood or misremembered the second comment). My opponent then played a move that resulted in a threefold repetition. I then asked "How is this "trolling"", and left the chat room to analyze my game. My opponent then sent me these messages: It seems that my opponent was salty for drawing an endgame up two pawns Here is a link to the game: https://www.chess.com/analysis/game/live/20820626629

Yesterday, one of our comrades @JqH_415g closed their own account. So to remember our fallen comrade I decided to annotate the last game before the closure. Our comrade will be missed. Note: I normally don't annotate games, I just did this because of pure boredom.

I just got done playing a game that I felt really well about, until I srarted analyzing it. It was then that I realized, besides blundering a ton, I feel that I don't like to, or know when to sacrifice for a better position down the road. Any thoughts on how to stop the blunders and my inability to know when to sacrifice?

If you could magically have just one skill a great GM has, what would it be? For me, it would be Magnus Carlson’s vision with the knight. I’ll never forget a game he played where he was in a totally lost position, about to lose his queen, then he made a move with a knight, then another, then all of a sudden he had his opponent in a brilliant trap that his opponent and nobody spectating saw coming. Now when I play I try my best to use the knight like that, because that opened my eyes to the power in using the knight strategically. Murphy’s creativity and Fischer’s puzzle solving skills were a close second, but felt a bit vague.

Happy April Fools Day! April 1, 2025: “The ability to play chess is the sign of a gentlemen. The ability to play chess well is a sign of a wasted life.” -Paul Morphy, GM. (Do you think he stole this quote from his dad who shamed him into quitting chess?)
