Many Quotes from the actual event:
"Wow, I didn’t realise. I’m willing to wait another week, but as soon as Nav officially quits updating I will resign, since I’ve been affected by the inactivity of this thread in a way that makes me prefer KOTL. After a while playing I also started to get bored of spending so much time on something that was previously a single-thread game expanding to a club and GOOGLE PHOTOS. Maybe it’s better this way... once Nav stops updating, I will resign. If possible, I credit all my points and control of my pieces(if not, then the 50% of my piece value in energy) to JamesAgadir.
Nav... the timing of your quit... only a few updates after flags, a long-awaited concept, has just been introduced, this happens. Perhaps it was fated that this thread, once so popular, fades away like this. Everything has to end, and this, it seems, will be no different."

"I think my days of modding this game are coming close to an end. I am just not as into it as I was, to begin with (and it's not just this game it's just chess in general, I go through phases where I'm into chess, and I'm not into it but I still like it).
Plus in the near future I will be serving an LDS mission so I won't be able to mod it then..
This game needs renovations if someone else is going to take over for me because it's just way too complicated. I will probably update just a few more times. Probably tomorrow.
Probably everyone will jump up to +1 health per update, and prices of all pieces will triple so we can remove decimal places. (Easy health calculations)
Still deciding between 1 event active at a time, or no events active at a time (I guess it depends on the mod whoever takes over), in theory this game would still survive without any events though. The player cap would also depend on the future mods."

"I agree with Nav, there are often things that even I am super excited about at the beginning. But then the interest comes in and the goes away and probably comes back later. But sometimes I just realize that whatever that thing I was in was not worth all that time and investment. We all have a lot of things in life, whether it be school, jobs, church or really anything. Also, taking on such a massive game would most certainly take a ton of time. And even getting to a hundred updates is a great feat, because don't forget that nav had to create a program write out Four pages full rules, solve our disputes and add game ideas. So, I think that we should thank Nav for all he did instead of complaining about not updating the board. And anyway all great things must come to an end, or they would lose their greatness.
I recall myself joining this game around board update 60, and from what I could see then and now, a lot of consuming changes have been made. As the game grew, the amount of energy it took to handle the game also had to grow. And all that energy was only coming out of only I guy. From the beginning to the end. And that must have been very very tiring.
Finally, I would like to add that when one big tree falls in the forest, it opens the path for another great one."

Not only this, but many people are starting to resign and Nav even admitted that he will not be modding anymore, at least for every single update. The game started to become really slow since the end of November. Updates went from 5 days a week to 4 and to 3 and so on. I noticed that the main thread every day used to get +80 comments, but that too started to get slower. With updates happening only 4 days a month it is impossible to run a game so big. And hence the game had to come to an end.
