We are excited to announce that legendary chess trainer GM Peter Heine Nielsen, the coach of World Champion Magnus Carlsen, is teaching a live, online one-hour masterclass at Chess University on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 at 1:00 PM Pacific Time (PDT). GM Nielsen will provide instructive insight and tips for improvement using Carlsen's recent victories. Students will also be able to participate in a brief question/answer session with GM Nielsen. This is a rare opportunity to learn and interact with one of the most successful chess trainers in history. Students of all levels are welcome to sign up though the instruction will be geared towards those in the 1300-1900 Elo range (intermediate and advanced). The lesson will get recorded so students can later review. Live attendance is encouraged but not required. The tuition is $25. Looking at the games tables it seems to be pretty endemic that people do play their games. I thought I was just unlucky. Then again maybe having to wait for 1000 slots to fill up takes too long for many players to even remember they entered. Anyways I hope the TD keeps a black list of players who time out without making even a single move. I find this quite unacceptable.

I thought I had a good attack this game, but I couldn't break through my opponent's defense. Towards the end, I was also low on time. Any input/feedback is greatly appreciated! https://www.chess.com/live/game/2683793072

I was just wondering how many people know about this game engine. If anyone has any experience with it please contact me. I have used Unreal Engine fairly extensively, but I'm trying to get better. Also if anyone has a knowledge of C++ I would also be interested in talking with you, because the scripting language with Unreal Engine is C++. Basically I'm interested in finding a group of people who are interested in Programming, any language,or using a game engine, it doesn't really matter what engine. I think it would help all the people learn more programming or game engine in general. If we had a person with a membership interested he could make a club for us to talk in. If you have any interest in anything related to programming feel free to contact me too! By that I mean, level design graphics artist, basically anything related to tech or game making. I hope to talk to you soon!

So heres a 10-0 game I played against an opponent roughly 600 points higher rated than me, it was very interesting and although I did miss a fairly simple tactic later on I think I played well and Im proud of myself. As a chess player its nice to see my self improvement, and I thought I should share as I have in the past https://www.chess.com/live#a=252395

While this is not the most brilliant game ever played, it demonstrates a mating pattern that some of you may have seen before. This is probably not my first ever use of this pattern, but it is certainly my first ever use of it in anything other than a blitz game. Enjoy the mini.

Hello, In an tournament on the Italian opening, hosted by ChessUniversity, which started in may 2017, one user in my group is on vacation all the time. He does a move every six weeks or so. This is very frustrating and holding up the progress of the tournament. This is also the reason I don't join tournaments anymore that accept vacation time. Would it be possible for ChessUniversity to consider removing these users from the tournament ( if possible). Thanks I have also been in discussion with chess.com support desk, but formally this behavior cannot be called abuse, as he is not in a losing position. But still it is very frustrating. He has 7 days vacation left as a diamond member, so I hope the game will be over next week
