Here are the pairings for Group C. Under match name you will find the requested match name to use for this tournament. The 1st team listed issues the challenge to the 2nd team listed. The challenge date and lock date columns are the dates the challenge should be issued and match locked so that the tournament can be finished on time. Teams are expected to give a little leeway on these dates if requested by the other team. Teams which fail to issue the challenge and/or lock the match after being contacted by their opponent or the TD may be forfeited at the TD's discretion. If the teams are not able to agree on a lock date/time, the TD will set a specific deadline on request. Matches should be set for 5+ players, open ratings, 2 simultaneous games. If a team cannot reach 5 members (we hope this does not happen) then the other team has the option to lock the match with fewer players, or claim a forfeit. Good chess to all! I would like to suggest that the winner and runner(s) up get a trophy of some kind to post on their team page. Open to other suggestions

Signups are now open here for the 2011 season of TM Championship. A reminder, this championship is open to "small" teams, traditionally 250 members or fewer, plus or minus a bit. Larger teams should join Team Match International or Team Match League instead. However instead of stating a firm cutoff point at this time, let's see how many entrants we get and what sizes. Teams signing up need to provide a link to the team's match page and names of two admins. Teams who have withdrawn or forfeited in past seasons will need to provide convincing evidence of their committment to play. All teams will be asked to post their acceptance of the rules of the tournament. To fill the standard 4-round schedule we need 32 teams. You might want to invite admins you know from teams with less than 300 players -- but be careful not to trigger the spam checker by sending the same exact message to multiple people. The estimated start date is September 15, 2011. Edit: Corrected typos -- normal max is 250 with possible extension to 300 depending on how many small teams sign up.

Hi Folks As 'Super-Admin' of the "Pawn Stars" group I thought I would take this opportunity of asking a few questions, but before I do I wanted to warn you that my 'little group of stars' are formidable opposition, ratings count for nothing!! The questions I would like to ask are; 1: When does the action start? 2012? 2: Who do we play? 3: And how do we know Who, What. Where and When? Art.

OK so here is the plan. I am aiming for 8 teams for each group. Of course if more teams are interested then I can extend it to suit. Group 1 = <150 members Group 2 = 150-300 members Group 3 = 300-600 members Group 4 = 600 - 900 members Group 5 = 900 - 1200 members Group 6 = 1200+ members ========================================================================= All matches 3 days per move. If a match is not completed I will take the result after 90 days. A team that is winning at that point will go to the next round. I aim to start in say 2-3 weeks time to give teams a chance to sign up. 1 team + 2 admins in this group = registration. ========================================================================= RULES I aim for this competition to be as fair as possible. I also want no "in house fighting" in the threads - I shall create a forum for any match problems so PLEASE post it in there. I ONLY want teams who are serious about joining. I am going to be spending a lot of time divising this so the last thing I want is late challenges, no links, missing admins etc etc. If the dates are NOT honoured and adhered to then you will lose by forfeit. ALSO any team that remove players from their rosters (this WILL need to be shown to be happening) will be disqualified. The whole point of signing up is to give teams a fair chance of winning. Any questions? Donna :)

Each round is scheduled to last roughly 90 days, unless there are definitive results in all matches before then. We measure from the last set of games scheduled to start per round, so there is less bias toward ending matches early. (if the 1st set of games were used, then the 3rd set would have 10-15 less days scheduled). On each round's ending date, the current score of all matches is captured. Those scores are used to determine match winners and tiebreaks, even if the match does not yet have a clinched victory by one of the teams. This is unfortunate but it is the only way to guarantee the championship will end on time. Teams which are eliminated on this basis but still have a chance to win their match have the consolation that the final match score is what counts on the team match leader board. Round 2 started on November 14th. That would yield an end date of February 14th if we just bumped the month by 3. I will be tied up on that day, so this time we'll go with the actual 90 days instead of padding it with extra days for months with 31. The ending date for round 2 is February 12, 2011. The GMT time of that cutoff depends largely on when I can get online and capture all the results, so I won't bother to try to predict it.
